Watching your progress and can't wait to start. I am still waiting for my doctor to read the literature I gave her. If I don't hear by the end of the week I will order from Riverside. Does anyone know if the medication interacts with other medication?. Also, does anyone know why doctors in NY state can't give it. My doctor said it is regulated.

Naltrexone blocks opiod based drugs, so things like codeine and morphine. It basically stops them working.

Most boxes of naltrexone contain incase of emergency cards for you to put in your purse which notify medical staff.

Hi Meggie - nice to see you posting - even if Naltrexone IS regulated in NY - and I Googled it to see what I could find, your doctor can still prescribe it - from what I understood, certain classes of drugs HAVE to be entered electronically by the prescribing pharmacy immediately instead of the present (in most states) 45 days - it is to stop things like oxycontin abuse and folk getting prescriptions from two or more docs. But your doc could still prescribe it..... sounds like she just doesn't want to for whatever reason .....

You can also see if it interacts with your present meds by asking your pharmacist before getting it .....I tried Googling it but it says that it interacts with so much! Out of interest I tried it with Ibuprofen - there were 400 drugs that Iboprofen interacted with - so I think they are just covering their rear ends ! Ask a pharmacist!

Still trying to get the fitbit steps in but can only get 10 thousand when I go to the gym. You would think in my job I would get in more steps. Hope things are going ok with you. Badger is doing well - his progress was slow but has suddenly seemed to get better - I so admire the people that feel they are not getting anywhere and then do! I think that is another reason why it is important for all of us to chart our progress! It really helps those coming along behind !!

Laughed at you only getting 10,000 steps when you go to the gym - if I do not work then I struggle to get steps - the days that I work I have no problem getting 15,000 or more steps !

No-one was posting on the other site Meggie ! I posted after my birthday and do not think anyone has posted since ! I am really glad to see you here though and hope that you manage to get the Nal one way or another ! I honestly do believe that it is the answer that we have been looking for !

Hi all - well, went up this week - not terribly but enough that I didn't like it ! It is the highest I have been since I started it - but my mum is in hospital and I am thousands of miles away and feel so stressed out - there is nothing I can do way over here !

Sorry to hear about your Mom. That is so hard, my Mom died 2 years ago and it has been the hardest thing I have faced. I think you are doing great keep on the path. I am watching, Badger gave me another site to check out. Wish I would hear from doctor and get her opinion. I think she thinks I should just quit.

Oh my goodness I am sure that is hard! Your progress is still great and normal that when there are extra stressful events to turn to something comforting. Proud of you and thinking of you!! Hugs!!
