I just finished my third AF day in a row and I have to say it feels pretty damn good, and not as hard as I thought it would be. I'm thinking of doing what Moderation Management calls a "30" in part just to see how it feels after three months of TSM. I was talking to DonnaD over there and she says the first four days are the hardest and then it gets easier. I'll be in Key West fishing for a week at the end of this month, and at first I thought that would be an impediment, but maybe I can turn that into a healthy endorphin asset instead. Simply to have fun for sans alcohol for a change. TSM has clearly been working, and the rat has clearly been banging the lever with progressively less force, so I'll call it a "cure test". One thing is for certain is that if I find it's a white knuckler I'll go right back to TSM and give it more time. It's nice to have a plan B and options. I know a lot of what's holding me back is fear of the unknown, and in my case the I'm pretty sure my addiction is much more mental than physical.

I went back and read N101CS's old progress thread and saw how he used both nal and bac, and then just kind of walked away from it one day and never looked back. Mellissa, Barry, Guapo and others have all basically done the same thing. That's what I did with Mary Jane and Marlboroughs, so maybe I should do the same here.........just kick the f@$king monkey on my back square in the teeth and be done with it.

Well this is kinda strange.

My kids are out playing airsoft with friends and my wife is visiting her folks in Missouri. In tha past this would be an excuse to get sh$tfaced but instead I'm cleaning the house, listening to music, and looking forward to evening exercise.

6 AF days in a row, and I'm rather enjoying it.

8-)

It's great to read your posts all41, 6 days AF in a row, things can only go from strength to strength.

I can really relate to drinking when the family are out, that use to be such a trigger for me. An excuse to go over the top.

Ha ha

Yes there you go, the point at which you say, err, well, don't need you buddy.

It's also a big scary step, but amazingly simple once TSM has prepared you. I also know what you mean about white knuckling. Very uncomfortable and not the way it has to be with TSM.

Thanks for continuing to report, not easy when everything feels easy!

great stuff all41 - looks like it's really working for you :)

I definitely identify with the weekend afternoons with no responsibilities - may as well have a drink or ten! this weekend just gone though, I've taken advantage of the time, done productive & enjoyable things & felt better from having done them, without AL. not drinking does free up an amazing amount of time, I can't imagine how much I've wasted over the years
