Hi all,

Week 4 is done. Still feeling good, but I'm a bit concerned. My weekly units dropped but my daily went up when I did drink. This week I had 4 AF days but I did 10 units on the 3 days I did drink. The AF's usually happen because I am not yet ready to have my kids see me drink. Therefore, I do not drink at home so I can only drink when I have time to go to a bar for an hour or two. Right now work is crazy and my recently widowed, 83 year old father needs my attention so time is hard to come by. With all that being saild I was stiil able to leave the bar and get home when I promised I would. I actually left a half pint of beer on the bar when I left one evening - that has never happenned before. Thanks for listening

Pre: 46 – 80+ units

2: .. 40......10 2 AF
3: ...40......9.. 3 AF

Naltrxone + Drink = Cure.

Best regards to all.
Tom

Hi Y'all,

Well Week 5 is done. I had 5 AF days but they were out of need to keep my job. The cravings were around 7 but I had to just gut it out. A two year programming project at work came to it's conclusion last night and I had to stay sober the last few days. I can't and don't want to lose my current position. Without TSM and you folks I doubt I would have been able to not drink. Last evening after my part of the implementation was done (until Sunday), I went to my favorite bar and drank 10 units of beer. I left when I had to and did not buy beer on the way home. I only have a slight hangover this morning which is a HUGE change for me. A while back, I would be in bed sick as sick can be. I am not sure if I am going to drink today, I want to but work may get in the way. Thanks to all.

NALTREXONE + DRINKING = CURE.

Best Regards,
Tom

P.S. Is there a spell checker?

Hi Tom, some situations really do demand control , you got the AF's in with discipline and I understand your fear . I did that too alot in my first weeks .
What's very nice is when worst excesses get capped and maybe that's what you saw with the ten units ? Then I found I could trust myself to drink say midweek and
happily it was n't as pre sinclair . Sounds pretty good , keep with it .

Hi Y'all,

Well Week 6 is done. I had 2 AF days which were by choice. Cravings were not very strong on those days. I made a huge decision yesterday after reading Dr. Eskapa's post (Press Release topic) and browsing the net a few days ago. TSM is not getting the press it deserves and I have seen a fes sites where it is viciously attacked. Therefore, I decided that it has to be spread by word of mouth. To that end, I emailed all 8 of my siblings, several friends around the country, and a few co-workers, CNN, and FNC. I sent the press release, I told them my story (in details I had not done), and my progress. I made it clear I was not yet cured, but I major physical and mental changes. I asked all of them to spread the word. So far, I have gotten only positive reaction. My sister is sending the information to a good friend who is a prominent Psychiatrist. My sister-in-law is bringing the inforamtion to her Al-Anon group. A freind who was in AA years ago who has stayed sober without AA said that he will spread the word. Another friend forward by email to his wife for a family memeber who needs help. We cannot let the reactionaries win. Countless lives will be saved, countless people will be spared pain, and millions of dollars will be saved when TSM is widely practiced. Thanks to all.

NALTREXONE + DRINKING = CURE.

Best Regards,
Tom

Way to go, Tom! I'm much in the public eye, and at this point cannot afford to 'out' myself - it would damage my reputation too much. Plus, what happens if I'm among the few who have limited success? (I have experienced some success - but not where I want to be, and still definitely addicted.)

I have, however, contacted Oprah, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, etc. When I get this beast tamed, I will shout it from the rooftops. Like I said, I am in the public eye, so at least with my relatively large niche market, the word will get spread. As it is, I've shared this info as 'interesting new science' whenever possible.

G4M, WTE,

I was a bit hesitant to open up before I am cured, but since it was basically to family and friends, I decided to do it. I just want to get the word out as quickly as possible. If I ever hear back from CNN and FNC, I will just direct them to Dr Eskapa. Even though I am not in the public eye, I do not want this to be about me or any one person. I want it to be about the success rate of 80% (from what I read it would be higher if people didn't stop taking Naltrexone). Thanks for the kind words and support.

Best Regards,
Tom

Hi Y'all,

Well Week 7 is done. I had 3 AF days. Cravings were not very strong on those days. On two days I broke myself imposed goal of less than 10 units. That has be bothered a bit, but as I keep preaching - better is better. On those 2 days, I did not make an fool of myself, I left the bar and went home without buying more beer or going to another bar. In short I didn't go "wild". I was able to stop, and I didn't have to drink the next day - it wasn't like in the past where I had to drink to calm the jitters. Keep a journal, posting, and reading your posts really help. All in all it was a good week.

NALTREXONE + DRINKING = CURE.

Best Regards,
Tom

Tom,

Good to hear your progress and again, thanks for trying to pass the Sinclair Method on in order to spread the word. That was so good on your part. Any response so far?

I had to laugh when I read your post "Hey Y'all"... Are you a southerner in Conn. or just a kindred soul? At any rate you have many good buddies here!!

Wishing you continued success,

bb

bb,

Does being born in the South Bronx qualify me to be a Southerner ? I'm just a displaced New Yawker who thinks "y'all"
is the perfect greeting. I picked it up traveling to NC on business.

I have not heard back from any media outlets but I have overheard a co-worker telling his friend about TSM, another co-workers wants to talk to me about it, a sister-in-law is bringing reading material to her Al-Anon group. Another sister is sending the data to her psychiatrist friend. So the word is getting out.

Best Regards,
Tom
