I'm confused :?

Cheeto, why would you switch from wine to vodka if it takes longer?

I'm tempted to switch from my cheapo Coors Light to even worse crappo beer, simply because it tastes like sh$t.

Maybe the Holy Grail of Indifference is filled with...........Old Milwaukee

Hi Cheeto,

My pre-Nal nightly binge for the past several years has been to down a six-pack of cheap beer and then pour a half pint or so of vodka in to something bubbly over an hour or three before bed. Not sure if that makes me a vodka drinker lol. Since beginning the protocol, however, I have stopped drinking vodka all together except for a few impulsive moments. I didn't try to stop, just did. I used vodka mostly to be discrete, fast and effective, but lately that just hasn't been my mindset. I'm still drinking, but I don't want to drink like that anymore. Not sure I could personally go back to nightly vodka without a few warnings lights going off.

Sorry for the confusion guys, my preference is wine but I get such horrible hangovers from it that I felt vodka was better to drink with less of a hangover.
So I stated this on the C Three Forum and was told several people have noticed TSM takes longer with vodka so I figured I would stick with wine.
Now that I hear that beer drinkers tend to respond more quickly I think I will switch to beer. I am not a huge beer drinker other than an ice cold beer on a hot day but will give it a go if it seems to work better for TSM. I think I will stick to light beer so I don't end up gaining weight and getting a beer belly! :o :o

hi Cheeto,

my preference is for wine, but I mostly drink beer during the week as it slows me down a bit. I very rarely drink spirits as I just rip through them so fast.

my suspicion is that the higher AL the %age of a drink, the easier it is to drink fast & drink "through" the Nal, in the same way that people trying to moderate or taper are recommended to drink lower AL %age drinks.

I would have thought that if you're drinking the spirits very diluted - down to beer/wine %ages - you would be okay, but if you're just putting a splash of mixer in the spirit you might not do so well

Hi Cheeto, I was curious if you had horrible hangovers pre-nal on the wine? If not, could the hangovers be due to the secret working of the nal? And if the hangovers are a consequence of the nal, isn't switching up your cocktail of choice pro-longing your extinction process? Drink like you NORMALLY would and follow the Golden rule, don't complicate it? I don't know, just asking. Other then that. I think you're doing great. Keep the course.

Yes plantrpr0 I had terrible hangovers with wine pre-Nal but kept drinking it everyday and then every morning it was the same thing, like knocking your head against the wall over and over. I don't know about switching as the book NEVER told us about changing your drink of choice so that is all speculation on our parts. I for sure do NOT want to prolong the extinction but if more people had success on Beer and doesn't give me the horrendous hangovers then I will try it???? :?

If I were you, I would want to extinguish the craving for what's addicting me, which would be the wine. Plenty of wine drinkers have succeeded.

Do you have to be in such a rush? Unless your health is in immediate peril, the difference between five months and ten months won't matter much once you're done.

Thank You Melissa as I really don't want to drink beer until maybe Mexico cause I love my Vino and that's what I crave most!!! 8-)
Yes I would love to rush this whole addiction thing but I know in reality with the science of TSM that I have to go with the flow. What with my addiction and my debilitating Menopausal symptoms (sweating, insomnia, crankiness, forgetfulness) I am ready to be put away in a padded room, lol! But seriously I am the one of all my family and friends that drinks and gets hangover after hangover and they even drink more than me and I suffer day after day. I worry about my liver as I do have some discomfort and pain in that area but all my tests have come back with no problems and I take Milk Thistle every day.
The day I can say I am on the Cured List is the day I am going to be the happiest person in the whole wide world! :P

Week 7 down and today is the start of Week 8 and my numbers and cravings are not down but I am forging on and keeping positive. ;)

I have been reading as much as I can on this Board of all the past posts and trying to make heads or tails of so many questions that are unanswered from the book that people on here have posted. I really hope that Dr Roy Eskapa will update and re-write the book and include all the answers to the questions that we ask daily on TSM.
I know TSM is not rocket science and we need not over think the protocol but there are many things left out IMHO.
It would be even better to ask and get to the source "David Sinclair" for some clarity?
Anyway I follow what I have read in the book, ask questions here and on the C Three Forum and hopefully I will be successful and be able to help spread the word at that time.
Nal on my fellow TSM'rs!

Hello, many of us in same boat, sticking to protocol, wanting to see immediate change but aren't. All of us will succeed, we just need to keep at it.
