I have been doing Naltrexone for over 2 months now. It's been a steady road so far, except for one bad binge.
Even though I feel that most of the drama from drinking has been lessened, it seems it may be mostly will power rather than the Naltrexone kicking in as I still have not experienced much less interest in drinking, which makes me worried. I would love some feed back from other people who may have felt the same?
I have been an alcoholic for at least 15 years, too many rehabs, and too many failed attempts at AA.
Should I continue in faith or suck it up and go back to AA where I felt miserable?

This is what I just wrote to Ottoman:
I am desperate for this to work for me so I know I have to stay with this at least 3-4 months and maybe up to a year for this to work then always take a Nal 1 hour before any drinking in the future. AA is not an option for me as I just hate all the shaming, praying, God stuff sorry but that's just me. When I did go to AA I could hardly wait to get out of there to have a drink as it was so depressing and just made me anxious. If it works for you then you have to decide with that is the way to go.
I had to work very hard at it yesterday to have an AF day cause I have had so many hangovers in the last weeks along with my concentration and my brain being so dead I can't do much each day.
You have to do what is right for you but even the book does not say 2 months is enough. The book says about 3-4 months and I know it's not what we all want to hear but from reading the past posts on this site people took a lot longer than that but TSM came through in the end.

Cheeto gives good advice, there's a few of us on here now who all struggle with doubts, however this is science working on the subconscious. Whilst we try to work with the higher consciousness to tackle our addiction. I just think that the evidence is with the science and the testimonials of those we are now following.

Stick with TSM and keep posting you are closer than you think to being free.

I'm just getting started and I'm expecting a 3-4 month minimum before I see results. As much as I'd like to be a "fast responder" I'm committed to the long haul.

Are you having any adverse reactions? If not, why would you consider quitting?

Hey Maxi. Why don't you give yourself a fighting chance and join and participate along us in TSM journey? We have an introduction section and then a weekly update area where we share experiences. If your serious about recovery, join us and be accountable.

Thank you for your posts, I will try not to over think it and keep going. There has been no adverse side effects so thats good. Good point also with keeping more involved online, my recovery is so very important so I'll check out the introduction section tomorrow as I'm out tonight so may not get the chance this evening. Thanks everyone!
