So I had been taking some expired ReVia that I had from years ago and, much to my surprise, it seemed to do the trick. Meanwhile, I bought some new Naltrexone and just took one an hour and half ago. I feel like I am going to crawl out of my skin! I feel so hot and sweaty and anxious. I also feel like I can't take a deep breath. I feel a little floaty or dizzy, too. I realize in hindsight I should have taken half, but when will I feel better today? True, I don't FEEL like drinking, but I want to so that I can slow down a bit. Is this a normal reaction? Help. I want to feel normal.

It should take about two hours to feel normal again. Maybe you're allergic to some of the ingredients used to mix the tablet? It's impossible to know. If I were you (assuming you survive!), I'd take 1/2 next time. I also sometimes have profound experiences when taking Nal, but not exactly as you described -- perhaps you're also having a psychosomatic anxiety reaction to the real effects of Naltrexone which are strange enough as it is. Benadryl might be an option just in case it's an allergic reaction to something in the pill (I don't think you can be allergic to Naltrexone per se, but I could be wrong).

Thanks for replying. I ended up taking half an anxiety pill. I hate those suckers; they knock me out, but felt I had to do SOMETHING because like I said, I wanted to crawl out of my skin. My clothes seemed too tight, I was sweating, I could hardly focus to read, it was awful. And the irony of it all was that I was forcing myself to drink wine to calm myself down.

I just want to hear that it's normal to have such a reaction and that perhaps a half dose would do the trick. As out of sorts as I felt, I sure didn't feel like drinking, so I hope the side effects improve.

This is what is happening to me too. I have taken 50 mg for 2 days and feel like I am going out of my mind, anxiety, nausea, shaky, dizzy, drugged, tired but can't sleep and just want to crawl out of my skin. I took my last pill at 4PM yesterday and drank a bottle of wine and then actually felt calmer and slept for an hour then BAM the anxiety, nausea and I was so tense I was clenching my teeth. Now it is the next day at 1:50PM and I still feel absolutely awful. As some have said I am going to take 1/4 of a pill today and hope I don't go out of my mind like I have been doing.

Normally I'm a bit 'what's all the fuss about' when taking tablets but I did stick to the 25mg first dose and I'm really glad I did. I had nausea, and a real spaces feeling like I was stoned, I couldn't remember things etc etc, nothing as bad as you BUT I can now take a full 50mg and whilst I don't totally feel normal I know my body is getting used to the drug.

I guess the best way is to follow the protocol 25mg for two days then 50mg... not start high and then cut down
