OK, looks like it's time to leave the "Introduce Yourself" forum and come here seeing as I am one week into this. I haven't figured out the whole units per week calculation thing- everyone seems to do it differently. I only drink 80 proof vodka, so I have just been monitoring the approximate amount I have been drinking.

Before TSM: 750 ml/ day (sometimes more- never less)

Day 1: 475 ml
Day 2: 475 ml
Day 3: 250 ml
Day 4: 500 ml
Day 5: 500 ml
Day 6: 700 ml
Day 7: 400 ml
______________

Average= 471 ml for week one (not bad if I do say so myself)

It should be noted that I took 25mg Nal for the first four days and 50 mg after that. No side effects.

I am having a hard time rating my craving. For so many years I haven't thought about craving or triggers etc. I just drink every day and that's that. Now I can delay it no problem, but I still have a hard time going to bed without being quite drunk. What happens is I drink more slowly and end up staying awake way to late, then I am tired in the morning. Don't know what to do about that.

I'm sure this has been gone over before, but I am learning so much so fast, it is hard to keep it straight.

Does anyone have any info on mixing Nal with Baclofen? I know a few people have tried it, but I would like all the info I can get. Maybe I'll look at Mywayout.com, but you guys might have info too.

Thanks.

Pete

by my calculations, 471ml of 80 proof = 188ml of Ethanol = 19 UK unit

That is about 6 times the recommended intake (and about what I'm averaging too  )

I wasn't suggesting it's a good place to be, it's just a lot better than where I was. 750 ml/ day down to 471 ml/day is good for just one week. Although, this could just be the "honeymoon" I read about.

Hi Pete,

Craving is a difficult one to judge, and that's why I don't report it in my signature. I do track it though, and my system goes kind of like this:

If you could pour me a fine tequila and a beer back and I would just as soon pour it down the drain, that's a 0. I have those about once a week. If I think about drinking maybe once during the day and shrug it off, that's a 1. After that I count the number of times I think about maybe drinking during the course of a day, and that's my number. I start to make plans that will facilitate my drinking at around 4-5 on the scale. If I would get really irritated if those plans should happen to get interrupted that's a 6. My drinking plans become set-in-stone at about 7-8. My phone goes unanswered, and I cancel all appointments at about 9.

At craving level 10 I would probably try to sneak W2E's drink while she wasn't watching (HA!), and no doubt pay a high price for it!! That doesn't happen anymore, thanks to TSM, so I guess I'll get to keep my arm / hand after all.

Hope this helps,

Fire

Yes , that would be dangerous , slightly more than being caught in Mike Tyson's
back garden , I'd imagine .

Some people on the MWO forum report great results with this. It's something I'm going to try, if TSM doesn't give me better results within the next month or so. . .

Well, this is going to be trouble.

I tried Naltrexone a while back- not doing TSM and it was ony finding this board through Mywayout that has me on TSM. I thought i had a lot of Nal left over from last time, but it turns out I do not. I ordered more from River, but that was about a week ago and it will be a few weeks more before I get it. I only have ten pills left and I don't see myself going AF in ten days from now. I realize that once you start TSM, you really shouldn't drink without taking Nal, but I am afraid that is what is going to happen. Unless someone here wants to sell me or loan me enough to keep me going until my River shipment comes in (maybe twenty?), I'm out in ten days and counting :(

Sorry Pete, I hope someone here can help you. As it is, my purse was lost on a recent trip, with most of our Naltrexone in it. So, we're skimpy ourselves. . .can you go to your MD and ask for a script to 'assist with abstinence'?

Thanks guys. I placed my order with River on the 27th. I hope it will be here soon, but you never know.
