I wonder if there's something psychologically important about the "birthday" of starting the journey?

Hey again.
Thanks for the comments guys.

Been a little while since posting. Still on the nal. For the first time in a very long time I feel normal when drinking. I am having 3-4 AF days these days and on the days I want to have a few beers I buy a six pack (approx 11 units). Most times I get through about 3-4 cans and I am done. Rarely do I drink the full 6 cans, but I admit sometimes, rarely I will maybe buy an extra 2 cans or so and drink them if I have a family get together, so that puts my units at about 14. Compared to 40+ units days I turned a full 180 degrees.

Funny thing is , nal has made drinking enjoyable again, B/C of the fact that I don't drink too much.

So , the big question is, does any one know what the long term side effects of nal is?

Dave,

Congrats. It seems like there are a number of us that have been at this around a year and are finally starting to see the results that we had hoped for when we started. If you are happy with where you are, that should be good enough. I'm curious if your golf game has improved?

Yes , it has!!!

Dave, that sounds great. I'm glad for you. I remember your story very well last year -- big golfer, boss over many, world traveler, frequently making a buffoon out of yourself in front of your co-workers when drunk, etc... It's great to see yet another person win the battle through TSM.

I plan to. Cannot imagine a life without enjoying (not pounding down) a good beer or wine.

I've never read about any, and there may be long-term benefits.

Lots of people take low dose naltrexone every day for years for treatment of things like fibromyalgia. I'm taking it myself to try and up-regulate my opioid receptors. It's supposed to be very good for the immune system.
