Almost two months since my last drink. Im not counting and I havent had any cravings. Had a cigarette the other day, was having a bad day. It was nice and relaxing. Never got hooked on cigarettes, I could take or leave them. I was a social smoker.

One thing I have noticed is that my motivation has increased by leaps and bounds. Its a welcome change. Overall, its been almost 8 months since I started TSM. So people can still have improvement to look forward to 8 months out.

Cool this is good to hear and thanks for sharing.

I'm 10 months AF, after 2 years of TSM drinking to safe levels, sometimes being abstinent for months at a time. I got to a point where I didn't like alcohol and knew I was only drinking for the sake of it.

Things can be a whole lot easier without alcohol and of course there's no nal involved if you don't drink.

sideeffect2 I guess I hadn't been paying attention much, but it sounds like you're doing great and may hold the world record fastest cure -- which means you're very rat-like. And UKBlonde, you continue to be very inspiring to me, too. I'm fast approaching day 100 AF -- this would have seemed like a complete pipe-dream just two years ago, but here I am.

I agree that the simplicity of full sobriety is one of the best perks out of multiple perks. Not having to decide IF you're drinking, or when to take the pill, or if you're going to drive, or who's going to see you drunk, or how you can hide your breath, or if you're going to be hungover, blah blah. I'm still not at the point that I don't think about "not drinking" pretty much all day every day. When I lay my head down at night, "Hmm. I'm totally sober." When I wake up, "Hmm. No hangover, because I didn't drink." When I'm out to dinner, "Hmm. I haven't drank, so driving won't be a problem." While driving, "Hmm. I'm sober and in control." It's pretty much all the time for me. Never in a regretful sense, but it's so ingrained in my brain that it's almost always before me.

Anyway, we came here to gain some control, we end up teetotalers (which was never my goal either).

Yep, I havent been posting very much because everything has been the same and i have been keeping busy. Very quick cure i agree. Not sure if I have drank my last drink though. Though without everyone's stories I probably would have chosen a different path.

About 2.5 months since my last drink. Havent felt any desire for it. I seem to be settling into my new way of life. The newness of my not drinking has worn off among my aquaintances, which is nice.

I have learned that I need to find a way to cope with my stress. For now it has been an occassional cigarette. Once a month or so. Funny how I have never been addicted to cigarettes.

Not much else to report. Hope everyone is doing well.

Well, it's been 10 months of NAL now, and am only drinking about twice a week, and never more than 2, and almost always when eating dinner out.

Funny though, that anticipating alcohol has died away, and the pleasure from drinking is mostly gone. It's been insidious, but real, which makes not drinking my default and really only drinking a little bit at meals or graduation parties etc.

There is a site where people praise Baclofen (far more than Naltrexone), but it seems to be a roller coaster ride for most of them.

There's no question NAL works, and the beauty of it is that it is only required WHEN YOU DRINK !!

SE and Barry and UK, good work !!

Having a crap day, wish I could have a beer to unwind. Or something.

Perhaps I need another refresher course. For certain I will not today, but if Im still feeling cravings over the next few days maybe. Has been almost 3 months and a week since my last drink.

And to think, I quit drinking for one January a few years back and every day was a struggle. Nal, for all its downsides, is very effective.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a refresher as needed. I'll probably do on myself soon. I don't really think of myself as "a teetotaler," although I basically am, and don't think of myself as "abstaining" either . . . I just hardly ever drink, that's all.

I've been finding exercise helpful to deal with stress and with general crap days. It took me a while to get into it, but now I miss it when I don't go to the gym. I've managed to convince myself that it's an indulgence rather than an obligation. :)

I guess this is where I should warn you not to drink without nal, but I know you don't need the reminder. I hope things ease up for you soon.

Hi Sideeffect2, I just looked at your link for intermittent reinforcement and couldn't really understand it. Could you please summarize it for me? I'm thinking of doing 12.5 daily until I acclimate to the side effects, but don't want to if it will negate my TSM success. Thank you, keek
