Hi all. I have an appointment with my GP on Monday to see if he will prescribe nal for me. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to get him to prescribe it for me? I do have an appointment with a government service in six weeks and I know they prescribe nal, so I should be good after then but I'd rather start sooner than later (I will still be going to that appointment regardless as they have other services that would really help me). Any advice?

I don't know what to suggest. It is available in Scotland on the NHS so might be worth mentioning this.

I did obtain a prescription from my NHS GP but only after having it prescribed privately by Dr Chick, going to said GP and telling her how well I'd been doing with it. I believe she and Dr C did correspond then she sent me for an interview with a prescribing psychiatrist attached to the local drug and alcohol team - only with this back up did she then feel safe in prescribing for me.

If it helps I'd be happy to speak/correspond with your GP, to whom I'd then think about giving the name of my GP but I'm not doing it here.
