This would appear to be an attempt at spin doctoring. That drunken interview has attracted more attention than a dopey little podcast normally would, perhaps because one woman has pretty much made a hobby out of talking about it under the reviews of Ms. Christian's book.

Bad PR. It's deeply unprofessional to be intoxicated during an interview, even a silly interview with a silly little podcast. She could refuse to comment or she could try a spin like this, but she couldn't very well admit that she got drunk before the interview. It would rather chip away at the whole "I control my drinking now" thing.

She sounds like me doing my famous "drunk guy" imitation for laughs. Almost comical.
