Hi All,

Look, I'm confused. There is an interview on youtube with Claudia Christian (see link below). As you may or may not know Claudia wrote a book called Babylon Confidential dealing with her batter with alcohol addiction and how she found The Sinclair Method in 2009, saving her life.

The interview was made on 26th of November 2012. What do others make of it?

I believe the people interviewing her were strange and rude. They kept saying (after the interview) that she was drunk. What do people here think?

I have just listened to it and she does sound a bit drunk, however, she has been a tremendous support to me, and even sent me by email a copy of Dr Roy Eskapa's book.

I now am on NAL and have been for 2 weeks. Mainly because of her......so what? We've al done it!

I've also heard it. I read a book review on Amazon which asserted that she was drunk during the interview, so I listened to it and also to several other interviews with her.

Short version: That's just the way she talks. Seriously. Unless she's working and deliberately elocuting with precision, she always sounds like that. I know it's weird.

You may disagree, of course. Whether or not someone sounds drunk is subjective. You might want to do what I did -- seek out some other interviews for comparison.

What I did was listen to her promo for the C3 Foundation first:
http://www.cthreefoundation.org/

Then listen to the interview from Nov. 2012:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC5YPq0pDmQ

To me she speaks very clearly in the first video. As for the second.....

Also the way sentences are put together "my drive is what my drive is", "if you want a book with garbage and bad talks about someone" and "Let me really say this" plus the slurred voice. To be interviewed about having been "cured" of alcoholism 3 years before and talking like that (and I know drunk) is worrying.

It make me wonder about the long term success of TSM but also that it could be used by people who are against TSM to stop people from trying it.

We know that TSM doesn't work for everyone. Aside from the notorious 10% who just don't benefit from it, some people are cured and then throw it away.

However . . . it would be really, really weird to go back into alcohol addiction while also making a documentary (One Little Pill) about being cured of alcoholism. You'd think she'd dodge the making of the documentary if she has returned to heavy drinking. I would, anyway.

I dunno. She has become a sort of poster child for TSM, but she's only one person.

I'll re-listen to the interview where she might be intoxicated and take a listen to the other as well. I have a lot of keyboard work today, so I might as well have something on the speakers. :)

I think DaveAus's concern is that CC called herself "cured." Cured people don't get drunk before telephone interviews, not even interviews with dorky little podcasts.

But, yeah . . . only one person.

I guess the main cause for concern would be the negative impact on One Little Pill, which is supposed to be the big PR push for TSM recognition.

Have just listened to 10 mins will listen to the rest later , She does sound like she had a few drinks , to be fair she did say she was cured of her addiction and binge drinking she did not say she gave up drink , in fact she stated that she still drinks . Many on this site are still drinking but to safe levels on TSM and yes you can still get drunk but that's far away from saying somebody is back to alcoholic drinking ....... I agree though that she should not do any interviews while having a few especially as she is promoting the new documentary . J.

I suppose it comes down to what we believe "cured" to be:

Someone who does not drink alcohol at all

or

Someone who drinks very little

or

Someone who drinks little most times and sometimes gets drunk

What is "normal" anyway. As long as the person is not drinking themselves to death. I never signed up for TSM to never drink again but to gain more control.
