Hang in there… I'm finishing week 5 and I'm noticing some reduction in cravings but my behavioral bond to drinking is still there. By tracking it and paying attention to it I'm quite disturbed and frustrated by the power of the habit. At this point, I am going to try to strengthen my willpower muscle and see how that goes. Having an alternative habit seems key and reminding myself of this throughout the day, "I am going to have sparkling water while I make dinner, then knit while I'm watching TV," hopefully will begin to turn the Titanic.

My habit seems to be hampering me too, and the looming of Christmas!

Oh, and I was wondering if you feel better because you ARE doing something? You are taking it, and posting here to get more help, info and support. I know I do, and I think we need to count these things as positive reinforcers even if the drinking gets worse again. Everything counts.

Fair point, Committed1. I do feel better in almost all respects since taking naltrexone but still drink as much. Strange.
