I couldn't imagine how bad a wine hangover combined with Nal must be. I'm a beer drinker and 4-5 on TSM kills me the next day.

Wine hangovers are brutal. I'm not a big wine drinker but sometimes when I really want to get p**sed and quick, I'd have a couple of bottles and usually black out. I 'd be a mess the next day with brutal anxiety.

One of my previous posts:
I have almost always drank red wine since becoming an alchie. There was always this sense that if I drank something else it wouldn't be "good enough" or "it". Of course, if at a festival with beer and no wine, what's a girl to do but drink beer?!?! So I CAN b flexible

Anyhow...I find myself now enjoying other, more tasty drinks, which is fun! I will continue with red wine as well because my guess is it has its own little Superhighway Network...Red red wine!

I'm curious to hear about others "drug of choice" and how it has or hasn't changed.

Peace,
Lisa

Since that post I find myself back to preferring my red wine, but still do order other drinks on occasion. I definitely find I don't crave other drinks as much. I bought beer and lots of yummy ingredients for bloody marys to have at home and almost never go to them after the wine is gone, but will always finish my wine. Very curious.

Hi J,

I am not drinking as much as I used to, but I don't usually stop til it's gone. Just trying not to have as much around the house. I have had wine left in the morn (it's a pretty amazing experience) but that was more so in the beginning. I had a pretty significant decrease at first that has crept back up. What I also don't do is go out for more after the bottle of wine is gone. I live next door to a bar so it would b super easy to do, but it's like the motivation to do so isn't there. VERY different from pre-TSM. Unfortunately I lost my first 3 weeks or so of tracking when my phone died. Last nt I had just a bottle of wine and felt drunk and kinda puky. So weird. Used to drink 8-12 glasses per nt.

How long have u been Naling? I'm at about 2 months. Best of luck to you. I know that day will come for us both when we can say, "Cured!"

Hi Lisa

You seem to be making great progress , I am on week 13 and I have made little progress so far but I know it takes longer for some of us so I am not worried , I may up the dose to 75 mg which seems to make a difference to some people . Whatever I buy I will drink at home , problem is I cant go to a Pub or I will keep drinking until I blackout , I am still very optimistic , and looking forward to the future . Wishing you the best .

J.

Jokerman,

The best to you too!

Your comment about our varied response times brings up a nagging question...I would love to hear everyone's response to this...should post it in another section, I suppose....

Why do YOU continue on the Nal path rather than attempting to be abstinent? That's all I'm going to say so as to not bias any answers, other than to say (because of previous life experience), there is NO judgment in my question, just curiosity. :-)

Peace!
