Elfern, my good man, houtx just mixed up your gender...she wasn't making fun of you (nor was G4M, she was referring to another post by Camelia in General Discussion, I think, that mentions the first 12 weeks is just the induction period, then we should start really trying...so she was just being encouraging)

Someone referred to me as 'him' on MWO a few months back and it does give you a very odd feeling prior to making you laugh. I thought, 'wow. I must really sound devoid of emotion and to the point' :P

And hey - regarding the progress? I think these weeks we are in right now are actually the hardest. My levels this week are equal to what I was pre-sinclair. BUT - I still feel like I am getting better. I was thinking this morning that I know I was drinking more pre-sinclair than my signature indicates. I just wasn't counting as closely back then and I took a sample from a month with no holidays, few night's out and no big stressors. I was also doing a lot of self-hypnosis and actively trying to AF (which I am not doing now - I have not tried to AF at all). I imagine most of us could say the same if we looked back. Try to concentrate on the days when you are exceeding your expectations instead of those that are the same as before. We are definitely gettnig there, Elfern, it's just a frustrating slow patch right now.

How are you doing with your injury and drinking and pain meds?

Hang in there - we are going to be successful, I know it :D

Happy one ,nice to see you , so to speak .
Ok .... so we've done the induction , .....thank goodness that's in the bag at least !!
But it's rosier than being on step one at AA :) Be jolly sure of that !
I'm hardly suffering any pain at all actually it 's just that my foot is rather useless
which has a knockon effect on the rest of me particularly as a marketable commodity for the moment ,although I'll try to work some next week .

We had a good laugh about Mrs Greg before so I'm Ok .
Have a good weekend . Hold good the path . Week 13 !

WEEK 13

I'm pleased enough with this week . Total units at 30 . 3 AF's . I'm still hoping to get the precious two in a row and when I get tothe second day attempt it , but every time at the moment something heavily agravating comes a long to scupper it ,and I reckon I'll get some relief by drinking . ThenThe alcohol seems to have avery heavy effect on me , lower tolerance has arrived , so I do cut off after less now .

Congratulations on a good week Elfern! I also find that the alcohol affect me more with Nal. Along with the initial buzz, I have the feeling that I've already had a few too many, even though its' not trure. The good thing is my head is still on straight, so I know not to keep slamming them down too quickly. It's like my common sense is no longer drowned by the alcohol. I see lower tolerance as a great sign of progress. Keep up the good work! :D

Krazy, I see that at week 14 your consumption is UP. Me too. And Jake. I'm wondering if this is a pattern - the brain is no longer getting the endorphin 'kick' it wants, so is demanding more alcohol for compensation.

It's a theory W2E has proposed, and since I see it is a pattern among some of us at exactly the same point in the journey, perhaps it's not such a random event, after all. Could it actually be a sign of. . .progress?

WEEK 14

Not much craving , not much drinking . Hoping for more of the same .
Only two AF's, but less drinks per drink .
