I'm sorry to hear that you lost your sweetheart. That's brutal.

Reading the book is good, but be aware that a lot of it is personal histories and bibliography. The actual "book" part is quite short and can be read in a day or two.

NoDict is working just fine for me, FWIW, but enough people have concerns that it might be worth seeking out another brand. I used River, but ADC seems more popular overall.

Good luck. I'm rooting for you.

Michael,
My first order was Revia from Goldpharma but they were out of stock when I went to re-order so I switched to Naltima from ADC. Didn't notice a difference in terms of effect between the two (both good), but the Naltima had a nastier taste when taking (esp if I didn't swallow them quickly and they started to dissolve a bit). The Revia are oval, so easier to swallow, and scored in the middle which makes them easier to split in two for taking half doses.

I've re-ordered last week and gone back to Goldpharma (Revia). My understanding is that the Naltima from ADC is a generic (made in India) form and that Revia are a proprietry brand (Bristol Squibb Myers). There wasn't a huge difference in cost so I decided to go with the "proper" ones....although, like I said, they both seemed to work just as well. Having read the stuff on here about Nodict I avoided them, but other people say they work fine.

Think the delivery time is about a week to 10 days. Either site gets you to fill in an online form. If you have any questions about it, just ask.

Ruth.

Thanks Melissa!

Amazing, isn't it?

Back in the late '80's, when modern science still thought it was about dopamine and THQ, I asked an "expert" if a dopamine blocker wouldn't take care of that. He was confused by the idea. All abstinence! Abstinence for everyone!

Annoying. :D

But pharmacological extinction works so very, very well. If you're committed, you'll be healed in a surprisingly short time.

It is indeed annoying! Let's hope I am committed enough! I believe I am but I haven't started yet!

I ordered my Revia last night so I will continue getting p155ed until it arrives! :?

You'll practice harm reduction for the next few weeks, right? It'd be a real kick in the shorts to get a DUI or something when you're just about to start getting better.

Hi Melissa.

Yes, of course. My p155ed comment was a bit blase. I don't drive when drinking and I don't drink so much I can't work the next day.

My problem is I drink every day, without fail. I have spent most of the past three years working on mainland Europe and staying in hotels during the week. Nothing to do but drink. Usually around 4 or 5 litres of beer a day. At weekends I can easily polish off a bottle and a half of wine per day.

I describe myself as a functioning alcoholic in that I am still operating almost normally. It is the almost that is now concerning me as I notice I can't pull words out of my head and I often get a racing heart.

My Doc told me about three years ago that my enzymes were "up" in my liver - indicating excessive drinking but I ignored him, of course.

I now recognise I'm on that slope to the place I've seen so many of my fellow professionals at, thinking it would never happen to me...

TSM is going to get me through this.

Opening up here is also wonderfully cathartic...

This morning the postie delivered a small brown package from Spain that contained three boxes of Revia. All the packaging is in Spanish as is the safety leaflet inside. I ordered from Goldpharma and I ordered 6 boxes...

There is no despatch note either.

Is this normal?
