First off, thanks for everyone for posting such wonderful information on TSM and everything associated with it. I've been lurking around, reading the book and browsing several similar site for quite some time until I decided to bite the bullet and purchase some Nal from an online pharmacy. Now that I have everything in my possession, I wanted to verify a couple of things from those of you that have been through treatment for some time.
My main issue with drinking is not in the sense that once I have that first drink I can't stop. It more like once I reach a certain 'level' I feel the endorphins kick in and its time to keep partying!! Many of the days I don't drink at all or I will have 1/2 or 1 glass of wine with dinner I don't feel the urge to drink anymore. But every so often once the snowball starts rolling, its hard to stop. It's strange, its like I'm still conditioned from being in college or right out of college (get a break from work/school on friday and its time for some heavy drinking!). So I am trying to control the binge drinking aspect of it and just get to a normal level.
So before I start taking the Nal I wanted to verify this: do I take it even if i'm going to have half a glass of wine, when I know that the receptors aren't even being kicked in? If the point of TSM is to block the pleasure sensors in the brain and I know that they don't 'kick' in until I have several drinks, wouldn't it make sense to take it when those events are going to happen (often times I know when it will happen....special events for the most part).
Does Nal have any effect on ADHD medicine? I do not know if they target the same sensors in the brain or not?
Thanks in advance!!
