Christopher,

In response to the post by bkn1627, I am in the same boat as you. I have tried a few other Plan B's before TSM, all to no avail. TSM is taking longer and not YET having the desired effect at this stage for me. I say YET. It is having some effect, and it has been a positive effect. My analysis is that it is simply going to take longer for TSM to work on people like you and I. We have been consuming larger quantities and most likely for longer periods of time. You referenced BarryB. I too enjoyed his posts, but if I look at his numbers in comparison to mine, we were/are not in the same neighborhood. Pre-TSM he was at 24 to 40 drinks per week. I started at 80 to 100. That's at least double his levels, so it is naturally going to take longer. That's not to say that it is not going to work. The danger for me would be giving up because I don't have a lot of good alternatives. Maybe you could mix in some other methods with TSM to augment the process. That has helped me throughout my first six months. Any reduction in numbers should be viewed as a positive. I agree with your strategy to continue for the remainder of your first year.

Weasley,

I use alldaychemist, and have never had any problems. No local Doc for me. It takes about 2 weeks to get your order from Alldaychemist.

Welcome to the forum.

No script required. You will need to register and create an account/log-in. It may ask for you Doc's name and number. I gave my Doc's name, but my cell, and never received any calls. You will need to answer maybe a dozen questions also about allergy's etc.

When purchasing, there are a few options, but I have always used the E-check option. Enter checking account info. I have always gotten $10 off of shipping $25, by purchasing $100 worth of Nal, and using E-check.

Hey Christopher and Ives, thanks for the info. So I just purchased my Nal on alldaychemist(I think... I say that cuz I chose echeck, but then there was something about sending a check to India) didn't do that as "e-check" implies that it is electronic, no? Anyway thought that was weird.
Will be very happy to receive the Nal. I am engaged and would like to get this problem under control. I drink a bottle of wine just about every nite and start earlier on the weekends sometimes. And it's not just the drinking, I just don't have the energy for life that I used to.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Weekly graph after 42 weeks.

Daily graph after 42 weeks.

Just checking in. Riding the roller coaster still.

I guess I interpret my graph to say that I'm closing in on 50 per week, down from 120ish per week back in January. Daily units look like their average is down to around 8 from 18ish back in January.

Still a long way to go to get to 30ish per week or less.

I must admit that I have not been forcing AF days lately, just taking my nal and letting it stop me most nights at 2, 4, 6 or 8. Still have a couple of number busters over the last weeks where I went to a drinking event and drank close to January type drinking.

It has been months since I got sh** faced blackout drunk.

TSM still very promising for me. No vodka half pints, pints, 5ths or handles purchased, consumed or stashed in water bottles or rubbing alcohol bottles since I gave those habits up early in the spring.

In summary, taking my Nal and drinking less and less. :D

Hang in there folks.

The downward trend is quite obvious. It's probably a good idea to plot the datapoints instead of just listing them. Visuals help with a lot of things.

Roller coaster? Maybe you're still going up and down, but the ups are less high. That usually means the roller coaster ride is coming to an end. :)

After 44 Weeks

Started this week with ZERO on Saturday :D and only 2 on Sunday. Was looking like ZERO on Sunday until the in-laws crashed my Sunday dinner. I was beerlessly cooking and watching football when they arrived and twisted my arm  into joining them for a few. I crumbled and popped my pill and stopped at 2.

Week 44 had 2 nights of weekly number busters in double digits. Wed. night a sports fundraising group meeting at a pub with many of my drinking cronies. Fri. night a fundraising event that lasted for 7 hours.

Week 45 (Turkey week) has started out promising with only 2 after 2 days.

Wishing you all good luck following protocol, especially those celebrating Thanksgiving this week. ;)

I've read barryb's old posts. He had a number of good things to say, but there was one which really struck me: extinction makes us able to put the glass down, but we still have to put it down. Regaining control doesn't make us drink less.

According to what I've been reading, anything up to 15 months is normal. With consumption as high as yours was, it's not shocking that you'd be on the longer end of that. I would intuitively expect that, even though I haven't seen actual studies on it.

Do you have a goal in mind?

Thanks for the comment Melissa.

Yes, the ideal goal would be healthy level drinking, whatever that is. 4 or less per day, or zero during the week and 30 or less per weekend.
