Hi All,
I discovered the Sinclair Method through my mother of all people. I'd say I've been drinking steadily and heavily for about 10 years now, I'm 34 years old. It's of course gotten worse and worse over the years. I went from the "party girl" in college who was fun to the woman who goes home every night to a bottle to two bottles of wine a night. Pass out, get mean, it's ugly. I have few friends (those few I have are great and nonjudgemental), no boyfriend (lost a love because I chose alcohol over him). I have a great job doing what I am passionate about, two pets, and some family that still believes in me so I feel lucky in that respect that I haven't lost absolutely everything! But I have had many many scrapes and bruises and have always just seemed to be treading water, barely able to breathe, and completely and utterly sick of alcohol, but I can't stop. When I do try, it's worse when somehow I have that first drink, somehow let myself, really without a thought. Total binge. I really want to begin this method and I now have to wait for a doctors appointment on the 13th of September. I want to start immediately. I saw online there are ways of course to order naltrexone/Revia without a prescription, I was hoping to do so but I wanted to see anyone's thoughts ordering online. If it was safe or of any recommendations or if I should just wait for the appointment. Thank you! Any advice/help is welcome.
Thanks again.

blyn1968,

Welcome! This is week 3 for me so I should be careful giving advice but I can say that I was very leary taking a pill from a company outside the US but I have had NO issues at all.

What I can say is that you are in a good place here, the folks are so supportive and the nal for me has been almost a miracle pill. I'm 45 and have been daily drinking for 20+ years - me and vodka have a strong bond and my body and mind need to find a way to break up as well.

I'll leave it to the experts on the best place to get nal and provide more long-term advice but I'm glad you found this method.

Look forward to your postings!
Marianne

Hi Blyn and welcome,

If your doctor is receptive to TSM and will write a Rx for Naltrexone, you can get it filled that day and it will be cheap through your insurance. If you order online, I think it takes weeks to get it anyway. Although many feel it is not necessary, I appreciate having a Dr. as part of my support team; it helps to keep me accountable.

Assume you've already read or are reading the book. You'll also learn a lot by spending time reading through the threads on this forum. You'll find that people here are very forthcoming about the challenges and successes they experience.

And we feel for you - we've all been, and many still are, going through the pain and remorse and anguish that you've experienced.

Know that better days are ahead for you, and most likely your life will change and improve.

Take care and hang in there, and keep reading and posting.
-Sheryl

Welcome! I just start TSM last Saturday. So far, so good. I ordered my Nal from all day chemist. I had to call them but it worked out fine. I'm very comfortable ordering meds online. I've ordered thyroid and adrenal meds for a long time.

Good luck!

blyn1968,

Welcome! I could not get a prescription from doctors in NJ - so I went online. I used River (https://www.riverpharmacy.ca/index.php) ordered without a prescription, got the Nal in 2 weeks. No issues whatsoever.

I'm 5 weeks in and TSM seems to be changing the course of my Titanic....

Rich
