My caveat to the fellas on the forum was merely sensitivity to the 'ugh-factor'. A lot of blokes might feel uncomfortable reading the following. So, if you haven't got ladybits 'downstairs', perhaps you'd like to switch to another thread.

Have any girls/women/ladies experienced blood spotting between periods or excess discharge (of the ordinary type, not an infection) whilst on TSM?

I am gynecologically in perfect health, so I am simply curious if I am the only female who has experienced these symptoms whilst taking Nal.

Thanks in advance and all the best to everyone,

Xanthippe

Yes but it wasn't due to TSM or Naltrexone usage - more a random side effect of a form of contraception I use. It lasted 3 weeks at around the 4 month TSM/Nal mark, and then stopped again. Think I had a bit earlier this year, but not something I think is linked to Naltrexone.

Now fully in control, alcohol no longer bothers me. Chose to go AF from 22nd July 2013.

No, X, I've not experienced anything similar during any of my excursions to TSM land. But then I'm an older gal, well past menopause. I wouldn't have thought naltrexone would be able to cause any discharge or spotting as it acts in the brain but who knows????

Are you perhaps peri-menopausal? Lots of interesting things at that time of life! In any case I hope it clears up for you soon.

UKblonde and dothework, thanks a million for your replies; they are truly appreciated.

I don't use contraception (Gus had a vasectomy a number of years ago) and am not perimenopausal. Maybe the SEs I mentioned are just some of the more obscure ones for Nal. They're harmless in my case, just a bit messy. No worries! :)

Again, thank you--and all the best,

Xanthippe

I've had spotting when I drink more heavily... not sure if somehow that could tie into it....

I read this when you first posted, but hadnt noticed anything out of the ordinary at that point so didn't reply. I've since had my first TSM period which was more clotty than normal and today I've got a bit of spotting. Logically I dont see how it could be related to the Nal, but it does seem a bit odd as I'm not on any other meds. The other possibillity is that it's connected to a reduction in alcohol, but I cant see how that can be true either. Very strange.

Ruth.
