Hi Keke

Son's graduation? how exciting ... you must be very proud - congratulations to your boy!

Good for you driving home to get your Nals ... I have mine in my handbag (which rarely leaves my side) .. an so far haven't been caught out ... but I've only 2 pills left til the next shipment arrives (hopefully before next Wednesday) so I'm AF tonight and tomorrow night I'll be right there with you in AF land!

Hope you're keeping well and not too energetic(!) .. great you have your husband on side .. I am sure he is encouraged by your progress?

My partner is really supportive and I'm very lucky. We both enjoy a drink (understatement of the year for me)! but he's pleased I've cut down and has never condemned me for drinking too much even though, looking back, I've been embarrassing and OTT on several occasions! I can talk to him a fair bit about TSM ... but its hard for him to understand completely - as most nights he'll have one beer and be quite happy - not even think or look for having another drink. However his best mate is a bit more similar to my style of drinking (Pre TSM) as is half of Scotland ... so he's never condemned me and can understand for some of us there is no such thing as one drink!

Im rambling a bit here ... enjoy your special day on Sunday and keep up the good work!!

Lorraine

Over did it this weekend, but still plugging along. It is time for me to take that dreaded 50mgs. Hubby is away and I hope I don't just drink the next few days away. I have an early morning run w a girlfriend, so need to AF it tonight. Plan for this weekend is to take 25 mgs tonight then try 25 Sat a.m. And another 25mgs Saturday evening. I sure wish that not really wanting a drink feeling would come back. It gave me hope. Maybe if I up my dose, I will see a glimpse at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

You may have explained this elsewhere, but what happens if you take 50mg at once? What are the SE's for you?

You're in this for the long haul so don't despair.

Tiller, I get a monster headache and wretch the next day. Of course, I know some of it comes from the amount of alcohol I drink, but I've rarely gotten that bad.

I took 25mgs last night even though I new I wasn't going to drink. Towards the end of this mornings run/walk, I felt nauseous and my tongue was numb. Kinda weird, but I think I need to take the Nal a couple of hours before I drink. The good news is that drinking is the last thing on my mind today (so far) and I managed to get a good amount of yard work done. Until next time, keep naling on! Keek.

P.S. I'd like to not drink on the Nal Saturday night just to see if I get the SE's without the Alcohol.
P.S.S. Sitting here reading and trying to decide if I should go do some strength training since I was on vacation last week. Hmmm....TSM is my priority and if I can get this drinking thing under control then I will be much healthier. So, I'm going to sit right here and read others journeys......

Hi Keke

how's the exercise going then? Did you do your strength training? Like you .. I've been making alcohol reduction and TSM my priority .. and perhaps wee bit of an excuse for less exercise recently ... but I'm back on it (the X trainer that is, not the booze!!!) this week

Determined to not let the slight lack of energy be an excuse

Hope your weekend went well without too many SEs??

It's been a good week. I got 5 AF days in and 6 units. Drank 2 Vodka Tonics Sat. Sunday I only had 4 and was horribly sick the next day. It may have been due to dehydration, as I worked out pretty hard Sunday a.m. then did a good sum of yard work. I drank plenty of water, but who knows. I've been off the booze because I've been having some strange symptoms lately and it scares me: Skin on my upper arms and upper legs feel numb. The funny thing is is that it really hasn't been too tough to stay away from the alcohol. We are gearing up for our annual party on the 3rd and I'm trying to delay the drinking until halfway into the party. I had booze in the house last night and it was the last thing on my mind. Hopefully this trend will continue. Take care and stay cool (We are experiencing a heat wave on the west coast and it's brutal). Nal on! Keek

Yay Keek!!! I'm so glad you are starting to see some real results. I like the idea of waiting until later in the evening to start. I might have to try that more ;)

Well done on the AF days. You may like to know I went through periods of horrid nalovers on a comparatively low number of units. These did go away but were scary at the time. This could be what's happening to you.
