Best wishes for a merry holiday to you El. I think you've given yourself the best present by sticking with tsm and now reaping the benefits. All the best.

Thanks. Wow, likin' your numbers since you got back on the TSM horse. Makes me look like an amateur. If that's the profile you're looking for, hang in there; you're an inspiration to others.

Ellpee, that's a very nice Christmas story...thanks for the update. I've really been smiling, over the "booze gifts" from your kids. I think it must, indeed, be a very nice nod of confidence from them, and so a VERY thoughtful gift! You've come a long ways w/ TSM, and set a good example yourself, in making a plan and then adhering to it.

Like you, my #'s are still not where I want them to be, which is why I've not declared myself "cured", though all my old alcohol-related problems are a thing of the past. Several times this week, I had less than one beer, because it was just so unappealing! But last night I went to a party and the wine tasted pretty good . Still, at 3 units, that's a big improvement.

Ellpee,

Great posting and great progress. But what a hell of a month for bad luck for you. I also like the irony of getting booze for gifts. Just stick to your schedule and it looks like life for you is normal for a modern day person. I will probably drink my first wine in 9 1/2 years tomorrow. But that is another story.

Been awhile, again, but not really much news. Numbers remain the same, 2-4u per session, avg. 3 AF a week, still pouring doubles on the sly though. A very slight uptick over the holidays but nothing pathological. As long as I don't bust through the 4u barrier I'm trying to stop worrying about it -- much, anyway. Not much inclination at all to have more, generally if I go all the way to 4u I'm feeling almost unpleasantly buzzed. If the pattern holds up for a year (mid-May) I guess I'll declare myself cured, but must remember to focus on today, not way down the road.

Greetings and good thoughts to all here. Seems to be working for me, hope it will for all of you too.

Glad to hear TSM is still working for you. I must say that I'm not sure it works for me if I don't also purposefully stick to a 2-3 drink limit. Beyond that, it seems like it's drinking as usual for me and that's been pretty problematic :( But I wish you all the best this new year and hope to see you cured soon!

Good for you in any case. At least it would appear TSM has given you the clarity of thought to realize that after 3u things may get unpleasant, and the strength of will to apply that knowledge. I started out with 10 a week in mind and haven't made that, average is more like 12, high around 20, but I can live with that. BIG relief in not driving drunk any more, not puking on my own shoes, not lying constantly about my drinking, all the other nasty stuff.

Ellpee, I'm glad your journey w/ TSM has been so very successful. As I've often said, I've found your particular approach (from sobriety) particularly interesting, and you've done a good job recounting it, along the way. :)

The weeks continue to slip by. Still doing TSM, still not drinking the way I used to, but slippage of late. Sneaking more units than I let my wife know about, for example, and very few AF days. I'm guessing my average week has sneaked up into the 20's. Troubling, and I'm trying to do the head work to turn it around and get back down to my 12u average.

all the best ellpee. See maybe if you can get 3-4 straight af days, they may consolidate into a habit. Take care.
