I want to thank all people here and especially Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Eskapa for their great work that helped and will help so many people.

Since I am here on the Board I have learned to control my alcohol consume significantly.
I am down to "safe limits" and I have a good amount AF days per week.
My craving is significant lower and my tolerance level for alcohol has reduced (meaning i get drunken already from lower units again)

All the people here have welcomed me so nicely and helped keeping me motivated. Thanks to all of you.

I wish that Naltrexone therapy would be promoted more for everyone. If I would have known this technique I would have used it since drinking.
Because my drinking history is not very significant with roughly > 2 years I was able to cut it down quite fast. Also I have quit smoking some time ago from being a chain smoker, so I have somewhat experience with "drugs".

I am 100% sure that Naltrexone has changed my life to the positive.

Congratulations, craving. I think you are an example of how naltrexone works faster for those with a shorter drinking history, and who don't drink to the same excess as some of us who have been at it longer. The young gal on Dr. E's radio broadcast drank to excess, but had only been drinking a half dozen years or so, and had a very fast response time to naltrexone.

I know there are some people who become addicted to alcohol very quickly, and who begin to consume huge amounts almost from the 'get-go.' It's my impression this is a genetic pre-disposition. One poor soul from my H.S. days was a real street rummie by the time he was 20, and had a life-threatening stroke before he was 25. He's now been clean and sober for 20+ years, but very handicapped. How I wish naltrexone had been available during those days! Alcohol can be such a waste of precious human life. . .

I really doubt that Nal did the job by itself.

There are several factors that I think made a difference to my consume

-with a bit over 2 years a "short" alcohol career
-I am under 30
-family ties - social environment
-the 1 hour before drinking Nal - means it requires planing to drink
-the unit by unit drinking (and not filling up the glass till there is no space!)
-the unit counting and therefore self-control and self-awareness of how much I drink
-Nal itself, and its "you can't drink more or you are going to puke" feeling
-This great board and all the great people that help me stay on the right track
