ZERO yesterday!

BoooYaah! (Feel really happy about the AF day yesterday, but also pretty fog headed from no booze yesterday. I expected that. Last February, before learning about TSM I actually did a month of AF, and had many days fog headed and confused. Obviously, that didn't last.)

Advice from you guys that worked yesterday. I ate a lot of breakfast bar - fiber bars in the afternoon before heading home on my booze free adventure. It did seem like an adventure. Got home at 5:30pm and popped a Melatonin. (Acknowleding I would have sleeping issues later.) Ate a big dinner and popped a 2nd Melatonin at 8:00pm, as I know the first 1 would where of in the middle of the night since I took it so early. Slept pretty good, with 2 staggered Melatonin, some loving from my wife, and my CPAP anti-snore sleep machine.

Week 6 - S19, S18, M10, T12, W11, T0

70 for the week projected for projected for 82

Not gonna **** myself about tonight. I will be attending a fish fry with $1.50 longnecks. I have 3 goals for tonight, see below. My wife and youngest are out of town, so, I'm really gonna have to try and behave this weekend. Saturday is a trivia night I am attending with friends but no wife to look after me. They will be serving draft beer there. My goals Saturday will be the same as tonight's below.

And to answer your question in advance Barry. It is much better sober.

Goals for this weekend.

1. No vodka.
2. Eat alot.
3. No vodka.

Ha Ha. And harder. I hope you took your CPAP off first. No dorkier looking, libido killing device has ever been invented.

Anyway, way to go on the AF night. I hope you weren't yelling, "VOODDKAAA" as you tossed and turned. I think it's curious how you "project" your week's drinks. That's classic "planning" which is supposedly one of the "Signs You Might Be an Alcoholic" if you've taken those silly online surveys. Hopefully, that goes away, too, one day.

Also, I think sticking to beer would be an interesting self-challenge. Watered down keg beer on Naltrexone. I don't think I could even hit four. Blah. How many people in "recovery" can say, "I can have all the beer I want, just no vodka." You have to love TSM.

Week 6 - S19, S18, M10, T12, W11, T0, F28 (98 Week 6 with 1 AF)

Week 7 - S24, S8

Major Failure this weekend.

Friday Dropped off wife and daughter from trip. Met 2 coworkers on the way home for 4 beers about 5pm. 5 unit vodka drink on the way to fish fry/home. Then committed to only beer. However, I was not pounding them, but the major failure was the Fish Fry turned into tavern that turned into my basement bar with 3 other buddies util 6am the next morning. So I basically drank for 14 hours, and I would speculate, 2 units per hour. So 28 units Friday.

Sat. Trivia night starts at 6pm, riding with other couple, as I am solo. Trivia 6-10, Bar stop on the way home 10-1, my basement bar 1-6 again with friends. So 12 hours drinking, I will speculate 2 per hour. 24 units.

Sunday, much slower pace but still probably 8 units.

I'm going for an AF tonight. Wish me luck.

Just like you predicted! You're quite the prognosticator.

By the way, have you looked into any adjunct medications such as Baclofen? A lot of people for whom TSM doesn't work well have more success with other drugs tacked onto Naltrexone. That might be a thought if things don't improve by the end of two months. Plus, I never figured out how to calculate "units," so I was wondering. If you say 100 units, how many 12 oz., regular strength beers would that be?

Per this website I equate everything to a can of domestic beer. 5% beer, 12 us oz = 1 us unit

http://www.cleavebooks.co.uk/scol/ccalcoh3.htm

200 ml of vodka is 4.51 US units. (This is a "half pint" and I round that to 5 units. So a half pint on the way home I say is 5)

375 ml of vodka is 8.45 US units. (This is a "pint" and I round that to 10 units. Typically when I say I had exactly 10 units, it probably means I had a "pint".)

750 ml of vodka is 16.9 US units. (This is a "fifith")

1750 ml of vodka is 39.4 US units. (This is a "handle")

I have always tried to relate my vodka drinking to beer drinking. Again, I evolved to vodka as it is easier to hide, however, I would still try and convert it to beer. I would basically mix a half pint with 50-60 oz of some other beverage so that it still took a while to drink and wasn't quite so potent. 5 beers = 60 oz However, during sever failures, there can be an occasional chug from the fifth in between beers.

Last night I had a pint of vodka mixed with 2 - 52 oz soft drinks. However, Monday was AF. Good and Bad here.

Monday I sucked it up and went AF, after my weekend bender.

Tuesday, had thoughts of another AF day however,

1. Bad nose bleed in the AM, took 40 minutes to stop. Probably related to combination of weekend boozing and the CPAP machine drying out nose from lots of AF sleep the night before.

2. During nose bleed work day changed from warm day in office to emergency work outside in subfreezing weather with snow/rain and heavy wind.

3. After outside work was done, truck won't start. Key/ignition socket messed up. Messed with this for a couple of hours, got ride home for spare key, went back. Still won't work. Called for a tow truck. Ran and got my "pint" and sodas for tow truck wait. Stopped at the "pint". Got home at 8pm, ate and went to bed.

Week 7 - S24, S8, M0, T10, (42 so far Week 7 with 1 AF so far, going for #2 tonight)

Sorry for the projections but here they are again. 73.5 projected for week 7.

Signed the alcoholic mathematician!
