Week 5 so far. S14, S16, M5, T11, W11

5 units on the way home, ate a big meal, thought I was done.

Started watching TV about 2 hours after 5 units, about 5.5 hours after taking Nal. I debated taking another but didn't and gave in to 3 more beers and 3 more shots.

Today I think I will take your earlier advice and double Nal. 50mg 1hr before heading home, and another 50mg after dinner. Try and keep to only 5 on the way home instead of 10 and 4 or less at home instead of my typical 8 more.

That sounds like great improvement -- a half pint from a pint! It seems like you have lots of room to keep finding ways for the numbers to continue to spiral down. Maybe the next step will be switching to those cute minis -- maybe three minis for one week, two for the next, etc... Again, if you could just beat that drive home drinking, you'd have huge gains. But, if you're like me, you never like to drink your first bit during, or especially not AFTER, your meal (God forbid). I skipped many, many meals and snacks so I could be as hungry as possible when the vodka went down. I always liked to sit down to dinner with a serious buzz on. I always thought, regarding TSM, that if I just had a big meal and waited an hour before my first drink, I'd have just as much success as taking Naltrexone because drinking after eating kills my buzz and my appetite for drinking. (PS, I'm kind of hooked on both AF sleep and AF sex now -- both are way more enjoyable and satisfying without alcohol).

Week 5 so far. S14, S16, M5, T11, W11, T15, F15 = 87

Thursday 5 on the way home 10 more at home - took 2nd nal after dinner

Friday 5 on way home - then head to fish fry - took 2nd nal - 10 more at fish fry.

I guess 87 is better than 105

Nalling and counting

Not sure why I decided to take my nal today at 11am, but I did.

We are having a bday party tonight for 13yr old daughter. Just family, but they are boozers also. (Not as bad as me, but boozers all the same.) I guess because I new i was going to start making chili for party, trigger for beers, I took a nal before starting chili. Only had 2 as of 3pm, but more to come when guests arrive.

Talking (typing) to myself now. I need to do this more often to help with my boozing induced CRS.

Off the topic, google Steak and Shake Chili Recipe. I like all kinds of Chili, but recently I really have been enjoying this simple recipe. (It's got Soda and Chocolate in it, who wudda thunk.)

Note to self and others regarding 2nd Nal.

I had a slight nose bleed on the way home yesterday. Stopped without pinching or using tissue. (Thursday afternoon/evening, had 2 - 50mg Nals.)

Today I had pretty good nose bleed on the way to work, and while at work for about 2 hours. (Friday afternoon/evening, had 2 - 50mg Nals, and I took 1 at 11am today.)

Not going to take any more today. I googled that Nosebleeds are 1 of the rarer side effects.

I have always had nosebleeds easier than most, but have not had one in months.

It should also be noted that with my 87 units last week, I drank slower than normal, and remained pretty coherent IMO. No blackouts and no massive hangovers. So that being said. It is working, but I feel its gonna take me a long time. Or not. We will see.

Hi Chris and Welcome!

It looks like Nal is working for you, I hope that continues.
Can I suggest that maybe you look at your eating habits too? Do you tend to let too many hours go between meals? Do you eat proper meals or do you eat snacks and sandwiches etc ? Try not to let yourself get hungry during the day by eating some protein (as well as fruit, salad or veg) every few hours to keep your blood sugar levels stable. Eg: a fist full of nuts, a drum stick, a hard boiled egg, some ham, a large spoonful of peanut butter or humous etc... Do this especially before you leave work. Make a promise to yourself to not get into your car before eating something substantial. Avoid processed foods and carbs as these tend to spike blood sugar levels, which then crash, creating cravings for alcohol. Watch out too for dehydration, thirst, along with hunger are two huge drinking triggers that should not be underestimated. Sip water and graze protein all day, it really helps, try it! :)

Good luck!

Curi

Consuming high amounts of alcohol also leads to nosebleeds -- if you've ever seen a drunk person's blood, you can see it's very watery compared to normal, that's partly how alcohol is preventative for strokes.

Thanks for the advice.

Weekend update not so good.

Saturday 2 in the afternoon. 5 before the party. 12 more with the guests. I will sat 19 Saturday.
Sunday at a sporting event, no booze until 4pm, then decided I needed about 18. (At one time I thought maybe I was gonna go AF Sunday. But the evil 1 arrived around 4pm, as well as some buddies at our home until 10pm.

Week 6 - S19, S18,

Sorry, I don't have any good news, but I will keep on counting.

Week 6 - S19, S18, M10

10 is good for me. Better than 18. I would have liked 5 but couldn't stop there.

(47 currently this week, projected at 110. I need to throw in an AF day i guess. That is easier said than done.)
