Hi Everyone,
I have been doing quite well these last few months. I have been on an extended business trip, and did not have any NAL with me for 4 days. I drank on those days, but not all that heavily, 6 units per session. Is this going to cause any lasting damage, or will my progress pick back up when I resume using NAL?

To answer your question; no, 4 days will have little effect on your progress. It takes time to become re-addicted, just as it takes time for the Nal to extinguish your addiction.

The 4 days certainly didn't HELP your progress, though. In fact, it started to REVERSE your progress. Try not to let that happen again. Keep Nal with you EVERYWHERE you go. Did you take underwear and socks with you on your trip? Add Nal to your bags next time, just in case.

Good luck.

I have a notoriously bed memory, so I thought I share some hints I use. I have one of those little pill-holders that I keep on my keychain, and I try to keep a few Naltrexone in there at all times. I'm on a few meds, so I keep the bottles in my briefcase; that way I have them whether I'm at home or at work. If I need to take them either place, there they are. (I learned this from forgetting to take my morning meds one too many times - now I'm in the habit of taking them every day when I get to work). My pharmacy is also near my work, so if I'm low on something I call it in when I take my morning meds and pick it up on my lunch-break. I never run out of anything anymore.

Also, I set my iPhone alarm to go off every day for my Naltrexone. (I use that phone alarm for just about everything, really). Anyway, it goes off every day, so whether or not I'm taking the Naltrexone (whether or not I'm drinking that night), I'll remember to take it around the right time. Works for me.

I also travel a lot for work. It seems I would know the few things I need to bring each time, but that's not the case. I keep a short list on the Notepad on my iPhone and I check it while I'm packing (Meds, phone charger, toiletry bag, etc).

I know this sounds like simple stuff, but it really took me forever to figure out how to be even this minimally organized. I hope this helps someone :)
