I completely understand you not wanting to tell your wife about what you are trying to achieve. If I didn't blow it (and reveal my alcoholism to my husband via a couple alcoholic blackouts) I wouldn't have told him either; as it is, I'm not really talking about it. He'll ask me if I'm still AF, I answer "yes", he says "that's really impressive", and then we talk about other stuff. I've had one conversation w/ my doctor about drinking too much and haven't discussed it further....realizing "oh, ****...pre-existing condition now on my record". So my struggles are b/w myself and this board.

I wish you well Bunton in your efforts. Thanks for posting.

I made a strong comeback during my reboot week: 3AFs and a weekly unit count of 23.3 which is a new personal record since starting TSM. Oh and one of the AFs was on Saturday night (usually a heavy consumption night for me).

More AFs, less booze and more sleep on the drinking nights has me feeling vigorous, optimistic and confident.

Question for the board: what do you think is the appropriate number of AFs in a week?

Wow Bunton, you'll get as many different answers to this question as there are posters on this board!! In my opinion, I think one needs mostly AF days...ie 5-6-7 each week to have a grip on this thing. I think AF has to be the habit and alcohol comes into play in random occasions. For me, I have to have the general rule of no drinking at home....unless we have a dinner party which calls for a glass of wine. Or we go to a winery for a tasting. Or it's Christmas eve. I know I also have to limit the number of "occasions" or that can be a slippery slope. Also, for me, I should just drink if it's a yummy wine (ie for the delicious taste, not the buzz)....No need to drink my father-in-law's home-made brew anymore....

And congratulations on your recent AF successes! Glad things are going well for you!
