Okay so I had to leave town on my birthday week for job training. I had ordered the Naltrexone
from the River Pharm and figured it would arrive round when I returned. I didn't change my drinking
while out of town the same usually few drinks feeling like crap the next day and no drinking while hung over
The day I returned home it was a Saturday and it was like the stars had all aligned or something. I don't believe in coincidences so I was very happy to get the Nal on that day. Someone has to sign for it so I thought I would have to go pick it up at the PO on Monday. Turns out my apt manager signed for it so cool!
Then my girlfriend is like total pressuring me to go out to make up the bday celebration I missed out on. I love my girlfriend don't get me wrong but she is the lets party to 5am type I have always been the happy hour queen.
Even with my house completely trashed I went out to test the Nal I only took 25mg because it was my first time using it. OMG, what a completely different night than normal! Usually I would be visibly buzzed after two or three drinks I felt nothing! Not even a little! I was so excited because I still had
such a great time. We went to four bars until 3am and I was not drunk. I still danced I still made my girlfriend laugh. And most important I skipped.
Sounds weird but when I am really happy sometimes I still like to skip like when I was a kid. A normal night of drinking I would not be that happy and I would never skip! I even got her to skip a few times. I don't want to get over confident but I really think this might work. I know about the honeymoon period so my eyes are wide open.
Today I am hung-over this kind of sucks hung-over with no buzz hmm? Anyway I will keep you all posted so grateful you are here! And BTW I to tend to talk and post to much so one personal improvement at a time ok!

RebeccaRyan you sound like you doing pretty good. as for as your girlfreind just be careful if she is a big time partier. my wife never cared if i drank maybey if she nagged at me 20 years ago i might of slowed down. not blaming her it realy my fault for abusing alchol and then crossing the line to where im at now. you hang in there buddy and you will be cured.

I get what you are saying about not feeling drunk, I feel like that too, but please remember that you are still consuming alcohol and while you might feel perfectly in control, you are still under the influence, so things like driving are a no-no.

Thank you for the responses the girlfriend I mentioned in my post doesn't drink. She never
has even tasted alcohol! Thats why I decided to go out with her I knew I would be in good
hands. I appreciate your concern but I never drive while drinking but have done other dumb
stuff! Not going to turn this into an AA meeting just going to keep it up!
