larry27,

No need to be sorry. Thank you for posting stay positive. I was looking at some other posts you might want to switch out to some lower ABV beers. Maybe something you enjoy? Something to add some change. Try some lower ABV beers mixed in with your norm to help lower units. Change is good! Just some thoughts

I'm a 28 year old male from Ontario, Canada. Four years ago, I had a bariatric bypass surgery and proceeded to lose 135 lbs. Unfortunately - after this serious procedure - alcohol took over my life and nearly left me for dead. I've landed in hospital four times, lost my license due to withdrawal seizure, and had to be brought back to life after hanging myself in desperation. I've tried A.A., but could never abstain for more than two months at a time. I was utterly a hopeless cause. Finally, and "but for the grace of God," sanity has been restored to me through the Sinclair Method. After only a short time, I now find myself without ANY cravings to drink. I'm able to go out with friends, have a few drinks, and STOP when I want to! For me, this has been nothing short of miraculous! It is as if I'm a changed person; no longer held hostage by this dreadful disease. I am shocked, shocked, shocked that this treatment was not made available for me sooner. Miraculous!!!

Thank you for your post BigRed! So sorry to hear about your painful struggles but happy for you that they seem to be behind you now. Thanks for sharing and take care!

Started TSM Aug 2012. Had some success but over time the Nal SEs were so awful that stopped taking Nal. Managed a 30 day (Sept 2012) and 46 day (Feb/Mar 2013) AF period which also contributed to getting drinking under control.

BigRed, your story is really painful and, in some aspects, tragic. But yet here you are! \o/
The Sinclair method seems to have saved your life, as it did with mine.
But you know what? In a certain way, I kind of "envy" you -- of course not literally. Because you're 28! How I wish I had known this treatment at that age... Instead of hearing about it only at the age of 38. Well, better late than never.
About this topic's subject, indeed: TSM ROCKS! I'm very grateful to all my mate forumers, who have assisted and encouraged me during the treatment with tsm. I can only say "thank you all very much".

Oh, and guys, have you seen Dr. Sinclair's video on youtube? It's interesting, he talks how he conceived the idea of trying the treatment. It's worth watching! ;)
