Hi Tak-Kat,

What a great post! I'm so happy for you and HEARTY congratulations on the imminent new arrival to the family!!

The great thing about Naltrexone is that IF you ever decide to drink again, you know you can take your 50mg and be fine, no alcohol deprivation effect or binging.

I'm very curious to know how you got on with LDN, are you still taking 5mg/night?

Curi

Curi - I stopped experimenting wit LDN when my psych instead had me try Busprione. Busprione is apparently a drug that had a lot of promise on paper, but not so good results in the field (which, he said, is why it's not as well known as some other drugs).

It's worked very well for me - go figure, everyones different. It's subtle - you can't tell you're taking it. Rather, after a few weeks I noticed I simply felt consistently "normal". Without it, I'd have have bouts of severe introversion where I'd basically want to rush home and drink by myself. With first TSM, then Buspirone, I simply stopped doing that. I can't remember the last time I felt that way, which is amazing because I lived like that for basically 40 years.

I'll add too, that going to the gym helps. I'm not trying to break any records or anything. I just go mostly to feel like I am doing something, however how small. I try to go most days at lunch, and ive worked up to he point where i can now jog for half an hour.

Last, I have Klonopin to take from time to time. It helps but I don't take it very often.
