I am so there with you, I steadily drink after three months on this program 1 1/2 to 2 bottles of white wine over my 24 hour day. I am waiting........Let's so hope for the best for us. I am with you Virgil

I know it is somewhere, but what is the conversion in to US units. If you drink 100 UK what is that in US? No math formulas, please, just the answer, love yah!

Although it pains me deeply not to provide the formula ... the answer is: 56.4 US units.

Thanks netty, you can give the formula, it's just for me, I can not do the math, I appreciate the concise answer. :P I was curious and that really did answer my question.

I am touched and moved by your kind sentiments. We'll get through this - one way or the other!

Best wishes,

Virgil ,
Why the hundred I don't know but many here seem to maintain then exceed their intake well up to two full months and more . So there you're no different . ALthough your earlier question about the graph makes me ponder similarly.
I'm not complaining but puzzled that my score was as yours a few years ago and
I'm not sure why it decreased out of the following reasons : a period of abstinence
most of fifteen months , then a period of huge effort moderation , liver damage and even just plain getting older which I believe does have an effect .
I wonder what actually happens to people who get cirhossis ( not a population we see alot of in forums ) do they stop with abrupt shock or go on as best they can ?
Do you know ? Or anyone ? (Apologies for being so cheerful ! ).

elfern,

I don't know the answer to your question. You might find an answer by trawling the net. Good luck with your search.

Liver damage is progressive and if you stop drinking the liver has a great ability to repair itself.
I am not a doctor so don't want to say much more. There is a small good book out there Under the Influence which goes into detail about the liver and the progression of alcoholism. Maybe you could pick that up or order a used one on E-bay. I am reading it right now on the suggestion of someone here. It is a very informative read. Good luck

Hi Folks,

I have now just completed nine weeks on the Sinclair Method and I am naturally a bit disappointed not to have seen any reduction in my alcohol intake to date. However, the fact that I take a benzodiazepine seems to have been working against me. So, I am now in the process of slowly weaning myself off clonazepam from which I don't appear to currently derive any benefit.

The important thing is that I haven't lost hope. Indeed, I am pleased to have discovered a possible explanation for my lack of progress. Consequently, in a funny sort of way, the benzo statement by Dr Eskapa has given me new hope.

I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed!

V.

I am glad to hear you are weaning yourself off Clonazepam. I was on it in the past and realized later I was better off without it. Good luck with Sinclair!!! :D
