Bob, don't be discouraged by those wierd days where you think everything is going well then you have a day like that. ( 9 beers ). There could be a bunch of psychological reasons or not for that sort of thing. I have had those too. Just don't think about it too much and keep taking your nal one hour before drinking. I am sorry but i forget how long you have been doing the method. I will look back and check. Anyway just keep going!!! :D

Hi Bob - same thing happened to me...starting at week 6 and then really hitting week 8 (I think - I don't have my numbers in front of me).

This week again I have been drinking at or above pre-sinclair units...the last 2 days finally went af with no issues. I **think** it's just our bodies getting used to the Nal. I had, in essence, a 5 week honeymoon period. Maybe the same thing is happening to you.

Hoping I will continue to go back down to lower levels next week. It is frustrating and scary, I know - hang in there.

Thanks folks!
Your responses & support mean a lot to me.

Tonight, even at the 3rd beer, it still tastes terrible. I never know what to expect. I don't even know if I stomach any more. Then, of course, right after this post, it'll probably taste great. Who knows. I'm sticking with the program.

EDIT: After the 4th beer, I was on auto-pilot until the the 6th one, then I quit.

Bob

PS EDIT #2: I have deleted the original "PS" due to insufficient credentials of the supplier of the originally posted information.

cool and interesting. Did not know you were taking any benzos bob. I went thru my game with benzos years ago and never take them now unless I am on a plane and it is going down. You raise an interesting point though. I think we need a thread for those who are doing Sinclair and other meds vs those who are only doing the Nal. I think they might have different results because the more drugs in the body the more has to be processed by the organs of the body. I think there will be differences. Just a thought in my noggin. :) . And I do not think one is better than the other. Necessarily. Just busier in the body with more meds.

Had 8 beers last night and it didn't phase me a bit. No hangover or fuzzy feeling this morning. I think I'm getting too used to drinking on Nal with abandon.

I'm going to attempt an AF day tonight and I don't know at this point of the day whether it's going to be hard or easy. I'm not going to overthink it, though it is my nature to do exactly that. If I think too much about it, I'll wind up taking the Nal and drinking tonight. And I want some AF days! I don't know why I want it so bad, maybe it's to prove that I still can. Or maybe it's because my daily drink intake is getting very high at the end of this past week.

Wish me well.

Bob

EDIT: I just went through my 1st AF day in four weeks and only had a little trouble (anxiety) around 5PM, but since then its been smooth sailing.

Tater: were you an everyday drinker, or a binge drinker? I don't recall. . .

You're quite correct. It wasn't bad at all. I woke up this morning with such intensity and energy, I could hardly wait to go to work! I felt so good I am doing another AF day today.

BTW, I am posting a new question outside of this thread regarding AF days.

Bob :D

I have decided to resume TSM based on the fact that the opiate receptors are still blocked and I am performing the undesired behavior (drinking). The method should work regardless of what other meds are in the bloodstream.

Bob

PS Had 6 units last night and woke up with a hangover. Kinda funny; last week: 8 beers - no hangover, this week: 6 beers after 2 AF days - hangover. Go figure.

good to hear Bob. don't let opinions sway you from what could mean success for you. So then like me we have to wait longer. I have to wait longer because I am an irregular binge drinker and you because of benzos. They are both factors. Sometimes I feel like it takes forever.
