Maybe this will help someone - particularly those who do not seem to respond to naltrexone very well?

I was on Naltrexone from Alldaychemist for two years. It's "Naltima" and is uncoated pressed tablets. My response to TSM was pretty good (not great but good enough). In November, I switched to "Nodict" (River, United, ect). Nodict is coated tablets. Over time, the uptick in drinking has become quite noticeable. For the most part, I discounted it to the fact that it coincided with me no longer counting drinks (but ALWAYS take Nal an hour before). Started to worry and decided to experiment. Last several days I crushed Nodict tablets before drinking. Not pleasant because it's bitter but not too bad if swallowed quickly. HUGE difference! The familiar slight disgust when drinking has returned almost immediately.

Now, it is of course possible that I am imagining it (doubt it). More likely though is that maybe for one reason or another the Nodict coat does not dissolve in my guts too well (or quickly enough, or completely enough). Regardless of what it is, this is an easy and harmless thing to do. Individuals vary in many, many things and maybe some people, like me, need an immediate jolt of Nal for it being effective.

Just an observation. Try it if whatever you take does not work the way you hope. YMMV, of course.

I don't think it's entirely imagination. I've had the similar effect/problem with medications. It's also possible that the coated tablets have of a lasting release effect.

Interesting observation, thanks. I often wonder about the differences between coated / uncoated formulations. There are some drugs for which there is at least anecdotal suggestions that the precise formulation has an impact on effectiveness [Prozac c.f. fluoxetine being the classic]
