Come on Dog,

Where’s your fight gone... you are doing so well? Don't get comfortable. ;)

Think back to the amazing progress that you've made and how proud your wife was. Imagine your Florida holiday if you had lost control and got blitzed night after night.

We all struggle so much with this f***ing problem; we've almost lost everything we have. DO NOT GIVE UP the fight.

You've reached an equilibrium where life is comfortable... or just about bearable. So do you want to progress, then set some goals, try 1 week and reduce your intake by 20%. Or keep it the same but have one AF day. You might feel scared, uncomfortable that you can't do it. Of course, you can do it... if you want to.

Every now and again, we have to stop feeling comfortable and push ourselves to a place where we don't want to be.

Come on Dog, you know you can improve. Not kicking your ass, but trying to motivate you. ;)

All the best man,

Andy

I agree with Andy J Dog.
I believe for some of us that the habit of daily drinking is so deeply ingrained it's screwing up our TSM progress. Right now I am working on breaking that habit and like Andy says, pushing myself out of my comfort zone with taking on an AF stint.
Keep pushing JDog. TSM works, but I do think for many of us some effort MUST be applied in order to move forward.

Hi Friends,

Sorry. It is bad form to leave the board for too long with such great supporters backing you up and caring for you.

I have just been unbelievably busy. I am basically in the same spot. Still haven't had an AF day. Definitely habit drinking. I truly feel like I am on the verge of a breakthrough. I have had more success with Beer lately and I am going to try to ditch the Vodka (again).

My wife is a little impatient, but we are doing great. I'm a little impatient too, but I think the ball is in my court now to exert some willpower. I've probably posted that more than a few times. It is still so much better than the helplessness of pre-Nal.

I will update in more detail soon. Thanks to all and sorry for being away.

Hey Dog,

Good to hear from you. Now things are under control and work is more manageble, why not fix a date when you can have one AF night?

If you do attempt this, write down two answers:
What's the worst thing that can happen from 1 AF night?
What's the best thing that can happen from 1 AF night?

The elation and self belief you will get from this will inspire you to tackle that bit*h Vodka. It will also give your wife confidence that you really can make progress.

Come on Dog - we know you can do it... do you want to? ;)

Andy.

I think Andy has a great idea about this - one AF night won't kill you! You can even tell yourself you get to drink the next night if that makes you feel better :)

Thanks for the support everyone, you are right. I feel badly about not being able to exert some willpower right now, because I think the NAL has given me that ability. I keep choosing to drink at the end of my long, stressful, busy days. I keep taking my NAL faithfully at least....

Hi JDog

It took a long long time for Half a Glass of Wine to have an AF day and she was very active and supportive on this board for some time. You can track down her posts in "Weekly Progress". Our journeys are all different.

I wish you all the best, especially at this stressful time of year.

Cheers
Sticky :P

Hi JDog, hope your still around and going well. Have you managed an AF day yet? Any success with switching to beer? I know you are very busy with your work schedule but (in my experience) taking the time to do at least a weekly log was beneficial and helped me to remain focused on the end goal. Once again, I hope your going well mate.
