Bob, you are a very nice person and I have always enjoyed reading your very sound and intelligent posts. I am just a bit raw right now and guess I may have also jumped the gun. For that I also apologize.

Bob, by the way it was Smart Recovery that I went to today. Didn't read much but went into chat. People there were also struggling and seemed very interested in this program too.

Labear: SMART's a great program. I recommend it to everyone. It just does not get rid of that overwhelming craving! Once the craving is gone or diminished, I plan on going back to SMART, so I can be abstinent. I eventually have to be absolutely dry for my meds to work correctly.

Bob

True. And we all are kind to one another because that is why we are here. That is why we are here. We each can take our pill and wait, alone, for six months. It would work for de-adiction to alcohol, but it would be a lonely journey. We are here so that it will not be a lonely journey. So we all are kind to one another.

So true lena, so true. Very nicely said.

Hi All

I started on 4/29 and just finished my first week. It felt pretty good. I drank only slightly less than I had been before but the points at which I drank less were important. Saturday and Sunday nights, specifically. Monday morning wasn't that bad when I wasn't hung over.

Bingeing on weekends, holidays and vacations is my weak point. I'm generally good at controlling it at other times. I'm not going to worry much about trying to drink less much of the time. But I will try not to really over do it on the weekends.

I seem to finally have gotten used to the NAL at full dose. It was making me spacey and feeling flushed at first.

This weekend will be interesting. I'm going out to open up our beach house with the group of guys I share with. Out there I usually constantly have a full drink in my hand. I really don't want to spend the whole weekend drunk and then deal with a lousy Monday. But will try not to stress about it.

I've been reading a lot of your comments and stories. It's very helpful. And have already gotten good advice and support from many of you.

I'm feeling positive that SM will work.
