Congratulations, NalWayOut, you will be a WONDERFUL grandma! One of the most sustained healthiest I ever felt was when I was pregnant with my now 19-year old son (which reminds me I should remind him to 'double bag it' as another mom recently said!) - because I didn't drink the entire 9 months! Haven't done that since. With son #2 I did sip a bit of wine now and again and he came out just fine - high achiever, good person. So if daughter abstains - GREAT - and if she drinks a little, well that could be OK too.

Good luck as you continue on TSM - you're making great progress!

Hi Nalwayout

Congratulations on becoming a grandma next June. At least you are not like my hubby's cousin who was a grandma at 37! She told me this just after I had my first child at 37! If our kids wait as long as hubby & I to have kids, we might never be grandparents.
It sounds like your daughter is lucky to have such supportive parents. Good to hear she's not drinking or smoking.
By June I'm sure you will have more control over your drinking, so in that sense the timing is good.

cheers
Sticky :P

Yippee! Congrats on new grandmotherhood. And I agree with what people said above - great if your daughter doesn't drink at all, but probably ok if she has a glass here and there as well.

Weekly units were 40 again :(. I was hoping for low 30's but it did not happen. What I'm noticing more and more is that I'm just not really getting very buzzed. I am beginning to have thoughts like "why bother drinking if it only makes you tired?" so that's a positive. I still have the 5:00pm feeling that I must have a drink but if I wait a while and get distracted it seems to diminish.

I hope everyone is doing well. Good luck to all of you. On to week 25! Wow! Can't believe how long I've been at this...

Best

Keep plugging along Nalway, I've just finished week 28 and I also have those same thoughs/feelings. Booze is becoming less and less appealing.

Thank you Nipit and KS,

Ya, wierd.... All of a sudden this thought hit me, 'you can try all you want but its going to be difficult to get a good buzz. How much longer did you want to try?" TSM must be beginning to work for me. YAY!

KS congrats on week 28 having the same type feelings. Its amazing that after all this time, things seem to be turning around. Can it really be happening???

Nipit thank you for your wonderful encouragement. Just what the doctor ordered! :)

Best,

A strange but wonderful thing happened Sunday night. After four wines and feeling very clear headed, once again I had that feeling "why drink if you are not getting buzzed?". This was what I thought was my AH HA moment. I was so excited to actually feel this way. Sort of nuetral to the thought of drinking in general. I woke up Monday with the same feeling. And this was going to be an AF day. However, Monday turned out to be extremely stressful. Many triggers throughout the day. Careless people, who infuriate me, especially when lives are at stake. So, unfortunately by the time 5:00 rolled around I was just dying for my glass of wine. I had three glasses last night. There was that pull to have more but I resisted. I'm glad I did.... Still in all, I see this as progress. The red wine (less appealing) is helping.

Nalway: Everybody calls this thing a roller coaster for a reason! But it looks like some of the dips and turns are getting smaller for you. Good to mix in a little resistance. Stay with it!
