Thanks Happy! Good to know the naps may slow down here soon.

Trying my best to just not think about it until about Week 8 or so ... seems many start seeing at least slight chnages at that point. Yeah! =)

Yes, my consumption was down noticeably in week 8, and nearly done with week 9 it is down even more. Hang in there, GF!

Hi WTE,

Congrats on surviving another week! I think you've done incredibly well, considering being in "vacation mode" with friends, and dealing with a skiing accident too! It must have been hard to watch everyone hit the slopes without you. I would have have been drinking much more than my usual. Actually, my heaviest drinking was during weeks 4-6. Not sure why, but it doesn't matter. You've got the right attitude by looking at whatever comes as part of the process, and thus part of the cure.

I also know what you mean about the difficulty in keeping count of drinks in a variety of social situations. I carry my small planner in my purse, and make hatch marks on a note page each time a down another one!

Best of luck with a tough work week ahead, and your continuing recovery. I admire all your energy, and wish you could send some why way! :D

WTE - I always drink more 1) on vacation, 2) around friends, 3) when in pain...so, if you are the same and take those factors into account, I think your units this week look encouraging. Also factor in that you are sidelined in the midst of all this (as you mentioned), you are doing well.

Very glad to see you posting again, WTE...it is so funny how when one member is quiet (for whatever reason), the board just feels different. I really like our little community...and it's so fun to see all the new members coming on board! We are quickly becoming old-timers :D

Good luck this week.

Hey girl -
I've been off here due to busy weekend and crazy emailing with a guy I mentioned elsewhere. Plus I just needed a little break. I am so sorry for your aciident - I missed the details; maybe they are on another thread, but I am SOOOOO on your page. When the chips are down or up or whatever, wine is my best friend. I am drinking out of habit, and comfort everyday. The last couple of days, I did feel a slight twinge of "ehhhhh - not sure I want to drink" but I'd already taken my pill and wanted it.

Been feeling discouraged again that I am now at the official 3 month mark and absolutely NOTHING has changed - except I am counting my drinks. Ok - still at about 50/wk. But then I did have the slightest "ehhhhhh" feeling and was thinking, ya know, if it were accompanied by the "ehhh, I don't feel like fininshing this drink", I'd be ecstatic. Still waiting for that to kick in. Am I waiting on a miracle??? I dunno -

I have worries in the back of my mind. I understand your anxst about being unable to workout or play or do things. That would make me crazy too - and yes, a good excuse to drink. The good thing about every single one of us on here?? We are concerned about our drinking and in this "small" way - doing something about it. If something catastrophic happened to me, I think my loved ones would talk of all the wonderful things I've done, the great person I am, and be surprised I was actually trying to do something about my drinking. Pick up my journal, get into my computer, look in my purse...I am looking for the cure for my alcoholism.

I am trying! And so are you, G4M my girlfriend! Let's continue to hang in together - I needed a little break, but I get so much strength from the friendships here :-) Hope you recoup quickly!

Good Morning Waiting,
Wow! Not even walking! That is slowed down! I can imagine you are feeling bored and will get out of (not shape) but some word. I would go crazy as my "sports" or yoga and such are one of my saving "factors".

Oh I hope you are not stressing too much over the coming of X. I understand you want to see him, and then again it doesn't sound emotionally helpful to you especially right now.

Oh I am glad your X-rays are coming out well, and I am glad that you did not do this drinking, then you really could be kicking yourself.

SO I too am feeling better, and I totally agree it is in conjunction with the amount I drink,
Hey sorry must dash more later!

Hey, houtx, I can relate - I'm now at about 50 upw. BUT, that's far less than the 70-80upw pre-Sinclair. I'll take it.

AND. . .I had an '. . .ehhh, I don't feel like finishing this drink' moment yesterday. THREW THE LAST ONE DOWN THE SINK, grabbed a bottled water, and went on up to beddy-bye. . .and that after only 7 units, and a VERY exciting/memorable day (finally winning an important court issue that saved my home. . .after fighting over it for 2+ years.) I was in tears of gratitude most of the day. . .but my drink units were still down. Amazing.

Things are looking UP! WE'RE GETTING THERE, GF's!
