Week 15

21/3AF.... I'm totally sold on TSM.

Working out of town generally ends up as a full on week binge...not now. :D The days I did drink, I averaged about 6 drinks per session, not too bad because all were wine days. My AF days were a breeze and all in a row, day 4 I was craving so took Nal and indulged. I didn't really notice anything different when AF, no big endorphin rush or anything. I simply didn't feel like drinking so I didn't. I am prepared for a spike in units sooner or later, but for me to have my numbers in the 20's with no effort is pretty amazing.
TSM Rocks!

Congrats and good work! I agree, TSM is amazing. The other day I had this revelation: I had the opportunity to drink (and had no pressing obligations to stop me from drinking that day or the next) and was in full health, etc....and I just didn't WANT to drink. The idea of drinking and/or feeling drunk was just not as appealing to me as the state I was in at that moment. That is probably a first!!

Week 16

24/3AF

Onward I go! Again working out of town this week and keeping the numbers in the mid 20's. I've been drinking wine and on all 4 occasions a full 750 ml bottle each time, not good but wayyyyyy better than 2 Litres a session. The AF days again came easily. I'm trying not to take Nal as insurance in case I "might" feel like drinking, I try to wait until I'm certain that I'm having a craving and not drinking just out of habit.

Congrats Katie, sounds like great progress!!! And yes, don't be dismayed if the numbers go back up a bit...mine surely did, but now they are lower than (almost) ever again!

Thanks EL, I'm ready and armed for those spiking numbers. From my experience and reading everyone elses story on here, I am pretty much convinced Naltrexone works and I will never, ever drink without taking it no matter what my numbers are.

Week 17

42/0 Spike!

I knew this was coming. I struggled all week with personal issues regarding my "ex", at times I felt like I was on a full blown bender, which really wasn't the case as I never had more than 8 drinks on any occasion. Hopefully I extinguished a trigger or two, because there are some BIG ones pertaining to my previous relationship.
The feeling has passed and hoping my numbers will drop to better levels this week.

Still on the ride! Nal-on!

Hi Katie, I can empathise with the temptation to drink when you work out of town, I do that often myself (work away from home that is). You're are getting into the nitty gritty of TSM now where figures seem to fluctuate and all the alcohol de programming is happening in the background. It can get a little frustrating during this stage. Stick with it, your attitude is excellent. There will be many triggers along the way that crop up and it is a long road but be patient and good things will happen eventually. All the best.
