Thanks Andy- my Monday went very well. In fact the past two weeks have gone very well. The first week after that weekend I ended with a total of 12- yes 12!- units and 4 AF days. I was prepared for the fact that once you start to feel better all of a sudden alcohol starts to look attractive again. I'm happy to say that I have not bought wine since that weekend because still at this point my stomach still churns a bit when I think about it. That has been a big part of my success these past two weeks- I've refused to buy wine. Also, I've been sure to take a Nal. To be honest, I think I experienced some DT's after that weekend and it scared the **** out of me.
Last week I was doing pretty good with 12 units again then hubby and I went out to a friend's house and I downed six in one night with a couple more the following evening. So total was 20 for the week. A far cry from 60 though!!
I have to say that I'm feeling good. I'm sleeping well and thinking better. And I'm still running and can finish a 5k if I really had to

. I realize that I'm only in a couple of weeks and could backslide at any minute. But I feel that as long as I stick to my guns and not buy wine, I might be ok. It hasn't been a total walk in the park but I'm also not white knuckling it. I've been primarily drinking beer which I can only take a certain amount of before I just feel too full from it so it keeps my units way down. Reading has also helped- if I'm feeling a craving I'll grab my book and it keeps my mind busy with something else.
I hope to catch up with everyone's threads soon- I hope you're all doing well!
