Last session before TSM: Blackout drunk, maybe 30 units, wet bed
Day one (working next day): 8.4 units, but no buzz or assholeism
Day two (not working next day): Stocked up with beer as this is binge night and tomorrow is written off for hangover. Actually had 12.5 units!!! No buzz, didn't blackout, passout or have any other negative consequences :) My head seemed to remain totally clear, and it felt as if I was drinking because I'd planned to, not because I wanted to. Left 11 beers unopened, and went to bed at around 10.30 - recently, I've been passing out sometime between 1 &3.

This is amazing, I feel so much hope :) :) :)

You may be a super responder. I hope so. But most likely you have started your honeymoon period in spectacular form. This bodes very well for your ultimate success. I suspect your life is about to change in a most amazing way. Get ready to fill you time with good habits. If you add a little distraction to your TSM you will hardly know what you are missing. Day 3, not so good. I'd intended to have my "usual" 3 or 4 tins in the evening, but ended up having 7 through the day (13.5 units ). Not sure why - possibly because I had a craving early afternoon and chose to have nal then beer after an hour, or because I'd forgotten to take my prozac in the morning which often presages a bad day. Regardless, by late evening I was feeling the drunkeness and wanting more. Managed to stop just in time before going into "Major Bender" mode, so no assholeism. Not sure if I should be pleased about being able to stop at all (which I'm certain I couldn't have without Nal), or pissed off with myself for having much more thn intended, or just chill a bit and try not to stress over it. I'm terrified about p**ing in bed/whereever I pass out, because that causes huge amounts of stress for/friction with my long-suffering wife.

I think you should be immensely proud and happy that you were able to stop at all - that is a marker of control. As for the rest...I wouldn't stress it. It's hard not to get impatient with TSM but just remember you are doing something about your drinking now, so every time you drink "too much", you're actually on your way to getting cured.

OK, so.... just finished week 1 with 51 SD, 1 AF. There's been a definite change to my habits, with it being much easier to stop after my allocation for the evening (which I've always done, as I'm conscientious about work) and didn't have my usual weekend bender last. Worried that that was just a honeymoon effect, but hoping that it wasn't. I don't know how many units I drank pre-TSM, but if 51 is the honeymoon period - yikes! :o

Anyway, feeling positive for now and at least I'm doing something to try to beat this!

Thanks Sticky - it's not even the embarrasment so much these days as my wife being sick of putting up with a Bed Wetting Drunk (hence the nick). Tonight has all the hallmarks of a major bendercoming on - but we'reboth having fun atm!
