Feeling pretty good, my numbers are still too high for my comfort, but I stay focused on the subtle changes; passout on the couch less often, relationship with my husband is excellent, few hangovers, i don't wake up in the morning with self loathing and the anxiety to drink my first drink is deminished.
My girls weekend getaway went well; I did drink heavily but not to the point of having a hangover the next day and although recalling the night before was a bit fuzzy it was not a black out.
As I start week 23 I am thankful for the small changes in my relationship with alcohol and even if I didn't get any better than this will continue to take my Nal prior to drinking. I spent some time reviewing posts of the "cured" and I see alot of similar stories to mine so I am in it for the long haul.

Bluehen, the changes you are reporting sound very positive and you're right many have not felt regained control at six months (me, Nick and others) only to realize it a couple of months later. You are doing great and you are getting better.

Wow! I have one more day before I can post this weeks numbers but I just can't wait- I am planning for tonite to be an AF which will make this weeks units 20 with two AF days! It was easy this week and most days were just a few drinks-last night I had 7 units, the highest night all week, and I felt like I was drinking to prove something, and all it felt like was boring. I feel a major shift has occurred this week and after so many weeks of treading water I am over the top excited. I felt no anxiety about getting my first drink each day and after a few was done. I honestly was more interested in food than alcohol.
This week might be only a peek at what is to come or the turning point, but it felt so good and is very encouraging!

That's great Bluehen, I remember when I started to be more interested in food than alcohol that I knew something good was about to happen just like it's getting ready to happen to you. Great progress.

You highlight a most enjoyable aspect of TSM: The effortlessness increases, eventually we stop fretting about an occasional big night (which is now so much less than what it used to be), it no longer harbors the anxious omen that Nal may not be working for you. We start to notice how free we are without that beast of compulsion hovering over every waking moment. Happy for your success!! It keeps getting better.

So great Bluehen!!! And I like what digetic2 wrote about the "beast of compulsion". Indeed what it feels like and I'm glad you're starting to really beat it down!

Hi BlueHen, just wanted to add my congratulations to the list. You're making great progress. Hang in there, sometimes the stage you're at can be a little disheartening as we wait for major changes to happen. They will happen but they're much more subtle than that. You're doing great

Great work, BlueHen--Your progress is great and 20 units/week is within the normal range (high normal, but normal). keep it up.

I know I have not been as active as I was 4-5 months ago, but that is because I have been out enjoying my life. I have made dinner for my family or gone out every night this week (6 months ago, I came home at 5 pm and drank till I passed out). If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. For all who have missed my log, read my posts--I was in bad shape. NAL and TSM have saved my life, career, and family!
