Hi Ketch

I can relate to the DUI issues. I have been DICd (Drunk in charge as we call it) first time was like 22 years ago, but it still counts. Bought a limited licence the 2nd time so I could drive for work. Got community service after the 3rd time. It wasn't too bad - worked in the local Foundation for the Blind. Threatened with jail by the lawyer though. Fortunately NZ doesn't have the interlock devices yet. Let's not go there again, any of us!!

Congrats on the salmon. Hubby is hugely envious. Don't worry - I don't tell him anything else I've read on this site. He enjoys fishing on our small (24') yacht, but we never catch anything big.

Salmon & scallops are my favourites, but i made the mistake of ordering salmon yesterday in Thailand and it wasn't great. Dry and tasteless compared to our salmon back home. The other seafood here is great, so back to that....

Hubby has asked the boys to go to the shop and get tonic for G & T's so I might be drinking early today. It is only lunch time here. I felt really fearful before I drank again 2 days ago after 6AF days. I am neurotic and probably thought i'd undo all the potential benefits of the face lift, but all was well & I didn't even get a hangover. alcohol is less of an obsession than it was so I hope that lasts.

Take care of yourself and good luck with the fishing
cheers

Sticky 8-)

I can tell everybody here with absolute resolve that Nal is working its magic in my daily life!

There is a God.

And She loves me very, very much!!

I am in the latter part of my 14th week and I am definitely seeing MAJOR differences. Two AF days this week and alcohol intake was as low as TWO UNITS last night. If you told me that Nal would be working so well for me in as little as two and a half months-- I would laughed aloud in a drunken cackle... and then I would have fallen down drunk in a blacked-out rage.

This is clearly not the case as of late!

I performed in front of a whopping 1,500 people today. And that is downright exhausting! So I opted to return home. Shop at the local grocer for din-din and I very deliberately picked out an organic six pack of microbrew out of Bend, Oregon. I am four units in. It is slow going. I started at 4:00 pm and it is 6:15 pm. So the intent is not drinking to absolute oblivion. I am drinking and the effect is mild as compared to drinking sessions as of past. I am ever so chilled out. Not even outrageously tipsy!

What a refreshing turn in my road; this journey.

I created a drinking graph on a piece of paper that covered the past couple weeks of alcohol intake. Damn if this treatment is not working!!! I could not be more pleased!

I am more in control. Much less likely to lend over my being to the point of reckless abandon. How nice is this?????

Hope you guys are also experiencing success, in TSM and/or elsewhere!

Sincerely,

Ketchikan1 ;)

This is great news. I was hoping you'd see some major improvement and it has arrived! Just don't mess with the golden rule and you'll be fine.

Thank you all for your continual support!

Nick, I have recently been drinking pricey micro-brewed beer because I am less likely to chug it down as it tastes very rich to me. So it's been easier to control. This is what my 14th week looked like: 2 AF, 7 Units, 11 Units, 2 Units, 7 Units, 7 Units and today is AF thusfar. It's 2:30 p.m. I am happy to report that I am sipping green tea.

Today is not a vampire day because I went out in the world this morning. Paid a parking ticket, got a pedicure, lunch, skirt to alterations.... I am not trying to bore you with the mundane details. I am happy to report that I am having a couch potato day. A lazy day that I have damn well earned! I have been working very hard lately.

This morning I also tackled the Florida DMV. For my license to be reinstated, it's not as bad as I thought. $355.00 money order, proof of Alaskan residency, $250.00 to get the interlocking device attached to my car and voila! My license is unsuspended. That's a relief! If it's just money that can fix a situation, then it's fairly easy. Mandatory piss tests or jail time, not so much.

Here's a question for all you lawyers out there: Florida just wants PROOF that I've attached that interlocking device to my car. Could I not just turn around and get my Alaska Driver's License and take that device right off? I don't think it states anywhere the amount of time I have to have that device left on... but I dunno. You'd think it would be at least 6 months. But what do you think?

Alaska is not demanding that I have that device. So what the hell???

There goes my brain searching for an easy way out; the path of least resistance. Typical...

Life is good. I am plodding along.

I will probably not spend the winter here. I have been invited to perform and work at the Tennessee show which opens in August I think. That or maybe I'll follow the cruiseships to St. Thomas and bartend or something. Lots of options as I have only my dog to consider.

Here's to hoping that I rack up another AF day today!

Couch potato-ing,

Ketchikan1

This is great news. I really think everyone who wants to reduce their numbers needs to get out of their comfort zone and drink something they don't really like. It will definitely cut the numbers way down.

Don't know the answers to interstate DL issues. Sorry!

Nal on!

hey Ketch,
Glad to hear things are swimming along! Sorry that all this DMV stuff is a nightmare but why don't you just leave the interlocking device on your car once you get it? I kind of feel like it's a great tool so as to not drive drunk at all. I sometimes wish ALL cars had them....Does it lock the car if you've had ANY alcohol. or if you've over the legal limit? I guess the first could possibly be annoying.
Anyways, enjoy your day off :)

Men? Not an eligible one in sight, Andy!

Well, there is that Dan hanging out in the wings. But no. I don't care that he has all the toys, the cars, company and boat.... I am just not that into him. I cannot find his lips. Man, if I can't plant a juicy one on my beau: Forget It.

It's all in the kiss!

Remember that biologist I was seeing? When he went to Ohio he hooked up with his high school sweetheart. She's moving up here evidently! I'm happy for him. And for anyone who is blessed with love. Someday my prince will come.

This reminds me... I smoked dumb cigarettes until I was 26. But I knew that my future husband did not smoke. Sure enough, we met when I was 30. He despised cigarettes and it would have been a deal breaker for him had I smoked. So perhaps my true love doesn't drink that much. I sure hope he doesn't! So I am taking care of yet another nasty habit before he arrives.

Yeah. I do not want my guy to be a heavy drinker. At all. I feel great about my progress. Still decreasing unit intake day by day. I am sipping an Alaskan White. The thought of drinking white wine is yucky to me.

Andy, have you thought more about how a bunch of us are going to get TSM mainstream? Do you think that we should meet with Dr. Sinclair first and get his nod? He's in Helsinki I think.

Tick Tock. I'll be meeting you in England in October if all goes as planned....

Then again, if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!

Peace out,

Ketchikan1
