Hi All,

Im still taking my Naltexone and it is still working after 5 week. I saw a guy carrying a case of beer out of the store on the weekend and thought to myself 'yuck'. That was quite unusual for for me.

Cheers

Good work so far, Stabilo! The honeymoon is fun, isn't it? The sudden reduction in craving to drink is just fantastic. Four weeks in I now have the desire to drink again, but once I start it seems quite difficult to overdo it. Good luck and keep posting!

Fantastic news!
I think we all used to sneak out at some point. I met a lady that used to hide bottles of Gin in her Garden pond so her husband wouldn't find them.

I'm really pleased that it's working for you... keep up the good work.

How is your wife reacting to your progress?

Andy.

The wife hasn't commented on my reduced drinking once. We still argue though lol.

My numbers are way down and have at least one or two AF days a week. When I do drink I'll have 2 beers and that's about it, it just seems pointless drinking now that the nal blocks the good effects and just leaves me feeling drowsy and irritable. I have been drinking a lot more tea and coffee in place of beer, it helps supress that habit of always having a beer in the hand.

**UPDATE**

Its been a long time since I posted so I would like to give you a quick update.

Thanks to the naltrexone I rarely drink anymore, usually only when out at dinner with friends to be sociable. I no longer think about getting drunk and no longer go drinking in my lunch break. I actually try to avoid it where I can. It feels great not to have a hangover every other morning.

I have been on a strength training program as well and am stronger than I have ever been my entire life. :)

Hi Stabilo

That is great news!! Well done. I am envious!

Would you consider declaring "Regained control?". There is an area for that under "Weekly Progress". I only stumbled across your post as I usually go straight to "Weekly Updates". I'm sure others would be happy to read of your success.

Have a happy Christmas and all the best for 2012!
Sticky ;)

Great to have you check in. As we head into the boozy holidays it's good to hear from an old-timer who has succeeded with TSM.
