This is what River Pharmacy says on their Facebook page:
As there seems to be some confusion about the relationship between River Pharmacy in Canada and it’s affiliations in India I thought to add this discussion to our FB page.
River Pharmacy is not an affiliate or a middleman, although many online pharmacies function in that manner. We are partners with the pharmacy we use in India, as we’ve chosen to allow orders to be filled there and ship directly from India.
Our Canadian branch provides a toll-free number so that you can call with any questions about your account or questions for the pharmacy team. We find that our team in Canada is better able to provide customer support as as there are often time zone constraints when calling India, along with language barriers to maneuver.
Most drug manufacturers have plants in India and nearly all the medications filled in the US and Canada are made there. To ensure this commitment we use leading manufacturers and wholesalers such as Pfizer, Wyeth, Ranbaxy, Glaxo, Cipla and Sun Pharma. All our manufacturers have USFDA, MHRA (UK), or WHO-GMP certification and are MNC*.
We abide by the laws of the country that we ship from. India is a country that does not require a prescription, enabling our customers to get their LDN from us without a prescription. However, most of our customers who are taking chronic medications already have a prescription from a doctor, and take the recommended dosage as prescribed. Please note that we also do not carry drugs that are considered controlled substances in compliance with safety regulations.
