For those ordering NAL through River Pharmacy - are you guys and gals doing this program on your own or with some form of medical supervision?

On my own, but I did get some blood work done beforehand to make sure that my liver was healthy.

I don't think anyone who orders online is doing TSM with the help of a physician, from my observations.

This method works! Try it!

My best,

Nick

Plan to get the liver function test soon, but still have a major concern.

Has anyone had seizures from alcohol withdrawal? I have had them in the past - 10 years ago. Went to AA for 6 years, started drinking again. Don't know if I can cut down without experiencing seizures again.

Thanks

Sad, one of the things Drs. Eskapa and Sinclair point to as advantage of the Sinclair Method is that it allows a gradual detoxification of an alcoholic to reduce the likelihood of withdrawal seizures. The idea is you gradually reduce your alcohol intake over many weeks or months versus a rapid detox. Some people are more prone to alcohol withdrawal seizures than others. The fact that you experienced them before likely means you are one of those people. Gradually reducing your intake instead of an abrupt stop in alcohol consumption would seem to make more sense.

I too was concerned about this when I started. When you stop and think about it, the cure for withdrawal symptoms on TSM is to drink a little alcohol. As someone said to me six months ago (Tambo, St Vincent, St Jude?), its a "kinder gentler detox".

As I'm sure you know, seizures can be lethal. You really should consult a doctor. There have to be some TSM friendly doctors in Chicago...
