Interesting!

I lost my appetite for about 4 weeks. I actually must make an effort to eat, and it's not because of nausea. I'm just not hungry at all.

I had the same thing happen, no appetite, but then after a while I started to have big ice cream and other cravings. Now my entire food schedule is off. But I also am having emotional difficulties so I though that was the reason for my moodiness with food.

Since this is under General Discussion, I thought it might be useful to share the information from a study that indicates Naltrexone significantly decreases the amount a heavy drinker smokes - though doesn't have as strong an effect on light drinkers.

Hi WTE. I don't think this is really a contradiction of Dr. Eskapa. This study suggests that some heavy drinkers smoke primarily when they are drinking, and there is an habitual association between the two activities. As their drinking levels decrease, so does their intake of tobacco. As Dr. Eskapa pointed out, this doesn't mean the Naltrexone cut down smoking due to opioid receptors being blocked, but because of a change in the pattern of habit.

good news, i made it through last night. what an effort it took to remain calm, i was so into just trowing up the pill after i took it. i went for a walk through my saskatoon orchard and smoked a few smokes, all the while trying to focus away from the nausia and the thoughts of throwing up.

i was brought back to reality when my son motor biked out to me and brought me a slurpee. i drank abut half and got a sugar rush, i think. i went inside and poured 1/2 of what i would pour for a cocktail and then sat down and drank it. it went down fast, but then the nausia went away. i got the buzz, or tightening in my frontal lobe area of my head.

of course i have not told anyone about my self treatment, and as luck would have it my parents made an unannounce visit. i was a bit crabby as i wanted to watch the apprentice. i get satelite, so i can watch at 7 pm or 10 pm. i knew i could not stay up for the 10 so i tried to watch the first.

i snuck a second drink while they were over, they hate me drinking. funny though, my mental allertness prevented me from appearing drunk. i had a third after they left and then had 1/2 of a fourth, was so tired and i kept fighting the urge to sleep, as i wanted to watch the last hour our donald and co.

the bottom line is i went to bed at 11pm and was shortly there after attacked by my kids who comofted me and said how much they love me. i know i am doing this for them and me. funny, we all talked for a while in bed, something that never happened before, as i would pass out. the Nal keeps me mentaly up and there, but the booze just makes me boring drunk.

i can see now how extinction might work, i found that getting drunk last night was no fun. it had no pleasure for me. in fact it was a drag. i could see how i just keep doing the same old over and over and over agian. hum.....

as for today, i feel not so nausiaded, i feel more acute, fine. there is some nausia, but not like the last four days. **** that was hard.

i entertained a couple of visitor ( from my faith) on saturday. they had no idea i was drinking, as we carried on billiards and conversations about purchasing realestate.

the wifeasked me if i was ok, i said i was tired, and she made every excuse for me to go to bed while they were here. see i am usually passed out by 9 pm.

they left around 11:30 pm. i was tired and drunk, but mentally there. they even talked to me the next day, as if nothing happened. ussually people comment about how funny and enteraining and how drunk i was. i was none of these. i was just there.

alcohol has always been an out for me, a way for me to be a clown, and most times it got me in trouble with the ladies, comin on to them, think i was this great lover dude. now that i am on Nal, there are no urges like this. in fact, it seems to control my outward sexual prowness. this is a good thing. very good thing.

i was going to quit yesterday, but today i have renewed hope that this is working.

has anyone had the same expereinces? i aet before bed last night, and wok several times with massive haertburn. have not had that since i can rememeber. usually happens when i have bannanas and cream befoer bedtime, but this was just eggs and toast. hummm

sorting out a few things today. chat later happy people. hope all is well in your world, and that you keep up your ppostings as it is encouraging and informative.

what are you people doing today?
