Week Six and TWO AF days -- in a row! On purpose! Planned! And, best of all, not SO hard to do!

The habit breaking exercises are working. Key word: WORKING. Progressing through weeks of TSM I am so aware that NAL does it's work: pharmacological extinction. We do our work--break habits, readjust patterns and change our thinking. They have to go hand-in-hand.

There is so much success in this forum and so much of it tends toward awareness, positive outlook, mutual support, caring, and consciously planning what to do next--much of that via the advice of our TSM friends.

Those AF days drastically dropped my units this week, and that was after a couple of 4+ unit days. ALL the posts are so helpful--both the triumphs and the tribulations have great lessons in them, and the support and friendship that TSM'ers show is absolutely essential to this working for all of us.

We're heading toward the winners' circle! Best wishes to all of us!!

Hey GC - Great job! Keep up the extinction. Your AF days and low numbers are amazing. Thanks for posting.

Down again in week 7. I'm not sure it will happen this week--one of those distracting weeks where I can't count on being focused. We head for a long vacation at the end of the week. It's often a bit TOO relaxed with the booze, but I have my new R&R plans in place and I do not intend to back track. There is no R in booze, so we'll R&R without it.

This is not a game. It's either the right thing to do or not, and if it's the right thing to do, it's right all the time.

Overall things are good. I don't focus on relaxing all night with wine in hand. I do find that if I am hungry late afternoon, wine is the first thing on my mind, so I'm trying to avoid both dehydration and hunger after 4 PM.

Only 1 AF day this week, but two with just one glass, so that's not bad. I can live with that "forever".

I read the postings on exercise and NAL and would like to add my comments--NAL didn't extinguish my exercising and life would be a real mess if that important health feature were dropped!

Here's to us!

Hey GC - Your progess is outstanding! I know that you don't want to give up wine as you and your husband are a bit in the business, so good going for you. Like you said, if you can stay where your at it would be great, but I have a feeling you will gain control! a bit more. :D

Half a Glass---your last two weeks are showing great progress!! I think you may have broken through some barrier. Good luck on forcing those numbers down down down!

We 2010 End Of Year Starters have to stick together!

You both are doing great! It's working! :D

And I whole-heartedly agree that giving up exercise because you are on Naltrexone would be a big, big, mistake. There is only one rule: take the pill one hour before. Don't over-think it!

My best,

Nick

Hi GC

Without reading all of your posts, your progress has been absolutely amazing. Well done!! Perhaps I should be checking in with you instead of the daily drinkers so I have a gauge to follow.

Take care
