Good luck on your diet. It sounds intriguing.

Good luck with the diet and tax man St. J and thanks for putting up so many posts so there was something to read today. There were slim pickins yesterday.

Ok-finished out my wine supply with 12 units this evening and 4 cookies. I start phase 2 of the hcg diet tomorrow (no AL allowed). I'm very excited about the weeks to come and also strangely not worried about the AF days/weeks to come. My biggest success of 2010 will be being able to follow this plan and experience meaningful weight loss (I say 2010 because I feel like that's when the groundwork was laid).
There is a contingency plan of being able to drink vodka with lemon juice & stevia, but I don't want to go there.
I'll keep you all posted on both my weight loss & units consumed :D

12 units and 6 AF - What can I say? Woo Hoo :D sounds good. Thanks for posting that. I follow a few of you closely and you are one of those I follow like that. I was waiting with baited breath for your update. No pressure. Just happy to see you are doing so well.

Hey St. Jude - I saw your progress in Lost Columbus thread and had to bump you up. You haven't posted an update for your week 18. I see amazing progress going on with you......week 18 you had 1 unit! Wow, congrats.

Thanks half--had crazy week at work so barely a chance to check in!
Yes, Week 18 was spectacular. I was in my second week of the hcg diet and had one 4 ounce unit of red wine when an old drinking buddy stopped by for a visit (I even felt guilty about that because the diet protocol is no alcohol). So far, in 15 days I've lost 15 pounds of body fat :o and feel great. I have a LOT to lose so very far to go, but I feel the same sense of optimism & momentum with this as I did with TSM--a long way to go but any progress at all in the right direction is progress. The fact that I'm even capable of following this diet and not drinking at all is mind blowing to me  . I'm approaching the one year anniversary of my DUI and I can't believe how different my life is. I've also noted that the spillover effect is occurring with good things happening. I worked out my IRS woes and won a court case against a credit card company that had been garnishing my wages for $600 a month  ! At the end of this month I reapply for my driver's license (it was revoked by the courts until August 4th, 2011 but I can reapply for it after 6 months). Wish me luck! I'm going to spend some time this week catching up on everyone's posts, excited to see how everyone is doing! :D

Congratulations on so many fronts! It's amazing how it works, but it sure seems that when we make bad decisions about drinking, bad things happen; when we make constructive moves, positive things happen. Funny how that works!

Keep going!

My best,

Nick

Hi St Jude

Well done buddy! That is so amazing. I am a thin person and before I read your post I was just thinking how lucky i felt to not be battling an eating disorder (anorexia or bulimia) as well as alcoholism like some of the women i have met in AA. I used to binge on chocolate for a while before I discovered alcohol. I have learned in AA how closely related all the different addictions are and how easily we can cross addict from one to the other. That is just fantastic losing 15 lbs. You could go on the "Biggest Loser" or whatever that TV program is called! Only joking. I guess they get well paid as it must be humiliating at times. I did diet after putting on lots of weight at 20 and after a while I became used to eating less than what i needed to maintain my weight. I also had weight to lose after having kids, but that was OK. I hope you find it not too difficult, but I know it is extremely hard for a lot of people. One girl at the gym said to me the other day that i was so lucky to be slim and i said that i had my own issues! Given your determination to succeed with TSM, I am sure you will be successful with your diet and feel much healthier.

I have posted on Warrenjames' thread about my 3 DICs (Kiwi for DUI.) Sooo don't want to go there again. Jail and I would not go well together! I wish you luck for getting your licence back and having that freedom again. The laws are tougher in the US than they are in NZ, but they are looking at changing them here. Also they lowered the drinking age from 20 to 18 and that hasn't been too successful. Binge drinking is a huge problem amongst teenagers in NZ and recently a 16 yr old died who was attending the most exclusive boys' school. Very sad. I expect that happens more frequently in the States, but in a country of only 4 million people it made front page headlines.

All the best to you and i look forward to reading your progress.

Cheers
Sticky 8-)
