It makes me so angry to read that your md doesn't "believe" in the fact that naltrexone targets our very specific alcohol opiod receptors. My md, a psychiatrist/researcher of much experience monitoring many trials and studies of all kinds of medications (at Columbia U in New York) has assured me that nal DOES specifically and definitely work in this way, while he knows of other pharmalogical meds that do not work with some other kinds of addiction, for example against crack cocaine. Your md is wrong! Nal is proven! Hope this restores your faith in TSM. It's working for me. Always one pill an hour or more before a drink.

Hi Slipstreamer,

I appreciate your concern and anger. However I did not mean to give the impression that my MD was ragging on TSM or anything. He was happy that it had helped me and was interested in reading more but he was sceptical about more outlandish claims, because they are hard to substantiate in contemporary medical journals. If anything, I probably led him to criticize the method a bit more than he otherwise would have because I was feeling particularly negative about the process after a rough weekend. In a way, I wanted him to say that it was ridiculous so that I would force myself to trycomplete absinence. However (and in answer to your question St. Jude!) that has not been successful and I know that that will never be successful in abstinence. So I am back to TSM.Last night went particularly well in that regard and I expect that tonight will be the same. I will update my numbers tomorrow, I suspect they will have improved. I have another appointment with my Dr in a few weeks and I plan to talk him around to the idea of TSM and Naltrexone. Good doctors are always willing to learn from their patients and I have a lot of faith in this one. He has more of a fraternal attitude than a authoratative.

Anyway, thanks for your support!

Record lows both in terms of total units and average units per session. At 5 AF, its probably the highest number of AF since I started also.

Hi Z9 - So glad to see your amazing progress. I have read your thread many times and know you had a rocky start with TSM or maybe it was a great start and rocky middle. :D

Thanks for posting this. It is inspiring to see that many AF days.

HG.
