Disappointed in me? Or disappointed in the Sinclair Method?

I suspect the latter.

However, if you are disappointed in me personally, we can form a club and you can be my vice-president and I'll be the president. :o

Last night I did deliberately cut down to 4 beers, down from my usual 5 or 6. I had planned to drink 3. I'm setting tonight's goal to 4, which is probably appropriate for this small amount of time in this program. The willpower it took to drink less was very slight.

People have been talking about missing or not missing the "Buzz" on Nal. I've noticed a difference, but it is quite difficult to describe. That spark of refreshment and tingly anticipation of the fun of what is to come that I used to have is gone. I'm drinking because I have to, which takes some of the joy out of it.

Bob

Hi Bob - I think you've hit the nail on the head.. the anticipation is the main thing that is gone and also something about how the alcohol spreads through your system. SR described the anticipation feeling as a kid waiting to open a Christmas present, I think. The anticipation is not there but the habits are all still there and you still get the buzz (although, for me it no longer burns throughout my system...it's just a soft landing throughout, barely noticeable, and I get more tired when drinking). I'm finding the amount I want to drink is definitely increasing this week and it's getting harder to keep to my 'goal' for the night. Last night for the first time in a long time I went back and snuck a little extra sip or two before going to bed, but did not refill another full glass like I wanted to.

Still..I'm not beating myself up about it. It will all settle back down eventually. And I don't miss some of the side affects of the anticipation. I physically used to feel achey before drinking throughout the day...my limbs crying out for some relief, slight withdrawal I suppose. I don't feel that anymore, which is nice.

Good luck tonight. Looks like something is definitely changing for you -- great news.

Hey Canadian,

I don't want to clutter up Bob's thread with what I'd like to share with you, so I'm going to post in your thread - (the one you started when you were still trying to follow TSM). If you care to read them, you can find my thoughts there..
